We recently did the Ubud to Kawah Ijen trip and it exceeded all expectations from start to finish. Our driver, Dek, made the journey so easy — smooth, relaxed, and well organised the whole way. When we reached the ferry crossing, a porter helps you cross the ferry. On the other side, our second driver took us up to the mountain and was brilliant — friendly, safety-conscious, and clearly experienced with the route up to Ijen. They help you get the medical certificate on the way and that's all organised too and takes five minutes. A highlight was our guide Sugi, who led us on the trek up the mountain to see the famous blue flames. Sugi was knowledgeable, patient, and made sure we felt safe and supported the entire way, especially navigating the trickier sections in the dark near the gas and flames. Seeing the blue flames up close was unforgettable, and Sugi's guidance made the whole experience even more special. The blue flames are unreal, and also seeing the gas lume in the dark was intimidating at first but really cool when you're close. The sunrise was probably the best view I have ever seen. You see the sunrise break over the horizon to reveal the blue coast and jungle shoreline and then you just turn to your right and you can see the acidic lake, sulfur gas plume, and volcanoes in the background with the moon still out. It's unreal. From the driver, to the porter, to the second driver, and finally Sugi's expert guiding — every part of this trip was seamless and well looked after. Couldn't recommend it more highly. Note - it's obviously exhausting by the end of it since you're coming from Ubud and it's a 22 hour round trip and around 24,000 steps, but if you're up for adventure it's worth it.

I had a great experience on this tour. It was a private tour with transfers to/from my accommodation and then a fast boat to Nusa Penida. Both my drivers Yogi (in NP) and Yasa (in Bali) were very friendly and great drivers. I got to see all the places I wanted to in NP and it was a very good day. I would recommend bringing extra water as the first car I was in had water bottles, but when I got to NP that car didn't. It's also helpful to bring a powerbank/charger as you will likely be using your phone a lot throughout the day. It's worth noting that depending where you're travelling from, the safety standards for boats may be different- the boat provider used from NP to Sanur had limited lifejackets.

I want to give a big thank you to our driver Sigi and our tour guide Mangku. Sigi is extremely professional and was on time. He gives great recommendations around the area and very easy to talk to. Mangku made our experience extremely special with his great spirit and knowledge of the island. He is one of the nicest and friendliest people I have ever met and made our trip memorable. The experience was a 10/10

We had an absolutely amazing tour of Nusa Penida! The snorkeling experience was incredible, and the crew went above and beyond by guiding my mom throughout the journey, capturing fantastic pictures and videos for her. Our driver and guide, Putu, was incredibly attentive and helpful. He guided us to each attraction and took wonderful photos of our group. We will definitely be recommending this tour to all of our friends!

this was the first time traveling to Bali, we were initially worried about what to see and how this would be communicated to our driver. We needn't have worried, our driver Diana was brilliant, from the start he had everything planned, we went to see temples, then coffee plantations, we stopped for an included lunch, then he took us to see a waterfall, which was lovely. all the time Diana gave us a running commentary on the local culture and points of interest, and when we got to places he used our camera to take stunning photos and video, far better then we could have done ourselves, in-fact he made the experience far more than we could have imagined.

Our driver picked us up on time from our hotel and got us to the port. He helped us gain our tickets at the port also. We arrived in Nusa penida and was greeted by Ben! He was a brilliant tour guide and made our day. Ben explained everything to us and made us laugh the whole time. Ben took us to great spots and made sure we got there safely. We really enjoyed the experience and would highly recommend.

Krisda was amazing!!!! So glad we got him as our guide. Picked us up on time and took us to all the spots and we were able to enjoy a nice lunch and the ATVS were amazing!! It was such a long drive back but Krisda got us back to the hotel safely. Thank you Krisda!!! You are awesome !!!

We booked the Ubud VW Private Tour, and it was such a fun and relaxing way to explore Ubud! My husband and I were picked up right from our hotel and visited the Tegalalang Rice Terrace, a waterfall, the Monkey Sanctuary, and the Ubud Market. All entrance fees were included, which made everything seamless. There were optional extras like the Bali swings and ziplining at the rice terrace for an additional cost. Lunch was also included at a beautiful restaurant with scenic views, and it ended up being some of the best food we had during our entire trip. Our driver was very kind and accommodating, letting us spend as much time as we wanted at each stop, which made the day feel relaxed and unrushed. Just note that this experience is more of a private driver tour than a guided tour — the driver doesn’t provide commentary but handles all logistics perfectly. Overall, a smooth, enjoyable day and a great way to see Ubud’s highlights at your own pace!
