There is a bit of upward...
Our tour guide, Fernando, was fantastic. He was so patient with those of us who were more easily winded. There is a bit of upward and downward walking, so be prepared. We ate so much delicious food that we didn’t want to eat dinner! I would highly recommend this tour.

Amazing day in Mindo
We had the best time with Wilson in the Mindo cloud forest. He had great planned stops and made perfect personalized recommendations along the way. Zip lining was a blast. Even the car ride to and from Quito was a lot fun, our carpool karaoke session will go down as one of my favorite family memories. Highly recommend taking a tour with Wilson.

A nice overview of Quito
Milton and our driver were prepared. He was there promptly at 9, and we went to the top of the volcano on the Teleferico - the gondola. Great vistas. Milton was so smart to take us there first thing. When we came back down, the line was getting very long, and the extended wait would have been very annoying. We explored the old town. One comment on that, it would have been nice to know that we were doing that so we could have brought along a hat and water. So, if he explained what was next on the agenda, we could be more prepared. Our tour of the Equator was great, and Milton knew lots of interesting things to share with us. He had pre-selected a place for lunch, and again, a little bit more explanation of the menu would have helped. On the whole, we had a delightful day and learned quite a bit about the culture and symbolism.

Good trip to Cotopaxi...
Good trip to Cotopaxi park...pickup at 7am, picked up others, and off we went...first stop about 40 minutes in for breakfast at a gas station/mini-mart/restaurant...most people opted for a quick snack from the mini-mart while others went for a full breakfast from the restaurant...this results in some people just waiting around for others...not a big deal but wish everyone was on the same page...then on to the park...short stop at the visitor center where the guide provided interesting info on the volcano/mountain and the surrounding plants and animals...then on to the hike, a fairly challenging 1 mile steep hike up to base camp...the guide reassured everyone to take it easy, go at their own pace, and take your time...I'm 65, huffed and puffed a little, took a few little breaks, and made it just fine...after descending, made a 10 minute stop at a nearby lagoon for some pictures, then on to lunch...several options were given, I chose the grilled chicken which came with soup, rice, beans, and salad for $6...I enjoyed my lunch and the company of meeting people from different places...then back to Quito, arriving around 5pm...the guide and driver (Hernando and Mauricio??) were both great and I would recommend this tour.

Ecuador’s capital Quito is famous for its high altitude, colonial architecture, and for being a jumping-off point for ventures into nature. Quito tours help you explore the UNESCO-listed Old Town, visit the Mitad del Mundo monument at the equator, discover local markets and culinary delights, and take in views from the TelefériQo Cable Car. Plus, day trips to nearby attractions such as Cotopaxi Volcano and Mindo Cloud Forest offer adventures beyond the city.
