Each curve brings a new landscape: endemic plants, volcanic terrain and forests that look like exits from a fairy tale, with closed curves and natural obstacles, but the reward is priceless: an horizon that seems to have no end, with the blue sea contrasting with the intense green of the vegetation and the ash of the volcanic rock. In the middle of the route, there is a short stop to recover breath and take pictures that will cause envy on social networks. This exclusive full-day tour invites you to discover the essence of Pico Island, among UNESCO vineyards, volcanic landscapes, elevated lagoons, whale history and local flavors. We started in the Old Creation, in Madalena, with a visit to the vineyards and the mill, then followed up to the Lagoa do Capitão for a short walk and panoramic views of St. George. The route continues to São Roque do Pico, passing through the Villa and visiting the Baleeira Industry Museum, before having lunch at a local restaurant overlooking the sea. After lunch, we follow the north coast, passing Cabrito, Arcos and Lajido de Santa Luzia, where we visit the Vineyard Landscape Interpretation Center and the volcanological/sismological zone. The experience ends with a Pico wine tasting, celebrating the island’s unique volcanic terroir, before returning to Madalena by the sea.

This experience combines some of Pico Island’s most authentic landscapes, including trails, volcanic landscapes, traditional vineyards and sea views. Participants will walk along the mountain trail, visit the Vineyard area of the Old Creation and enjoy a special lunch. When the weather allows, lunch will be served abroad as a picnic with finger food. If the weather conditions are not favorable, it will be held in a restaurant. After lunch, guests will have a wine taste, followed by a little surprise before the return and completion of the tour.

In this activity, travelers will discover the area of Monte, in the Madalena, through an easy pedestrian track, accessible and made entirely on foot. We will visit the emblematic Old Creation Mill and continue to Lajido, by the sea, where you can observe the ancient relieves marked in the volcanic stone and learn a bit of local history. In this natural and quiet setting, a guided meditation of about 20 minutes will take place, in contact with the stone, the sea and nature. Finally, participants enjoy an outdoor picnic. Optionally, if the sea conditions allow, there may be time to take a bath in the area of Laja das Rosas.
