Family Friendly Fun
We had an amazing time making alebrijes - everyone in our family enjoyed the tour and getting a chance to make our own. We bought some beautiful pieces from their gallery and enjoyed sitting on the patio painting alongside the artists. I was worried my 4 and 6 year old would be too young to paint and enjoy it but they made some beautiful art and when they were done, the tour guide gave them homemade popsicles which they loved! Great family friendly activity and the best part if you get to take a piece of Oaxaca home with you. Cannot recommend enough!

Great guide, knowledgeable and made it interesting
This was a great experience. Miguel was a very knowledgeable guide and explained the entire context of the place, how it was found, what to look out for, ideas surrounding the Zapotec civilization, what we know and what we don't, all of it. The place is massive and interesting, but you need a good guide to give you the context, to make it genuinely interesting.

Great choose your own adventure tour!
We had a great day touring various artisan workshops. Felix made sure we were comfortable and had planned a great itinerary where we got to see different artisans who were all experts in their crafts. Felix was great at translating everything for us, and we enjoyed spending the day with him. We also got to see the Tule tree and visit a small mezcal distillery. We would highly recommend this tour!

Fabulous tour! A highlight of my trip.
This was a fabulous tour! I’d give it a 10 out of 5 stars. Betsaida is very knowledgeable about food and is passionate about sharing Oaxacan food, history, and culture. The tour lasted almost 8 hours. It all, we probably sampled almost 60 different items, including chocolate, mezcal, a couple of pre-Hispanic local corn-based drinks, many types of local fruit, cheese, a variety of different tacos and meats, chocolate ice cream, and of course - mole. The tour supported women-owned businesses. Betsaida is funny and upbeat and really brought a wonderful and enthusiastic energy to the day. She also provided a lot of information about Oaxaca, its history, what sights to see, and different shops to explore – the tour was about much more than the food. I highly recommend taking this tour, especially at the beginning of your stay in Oaxaca. It’ll make the rest of the trip much deeper and more meaningful.

#1 Recommended experience, once in a lifetime
This was probably in the top three highlights of our trip. I hate doing things that feel overly manicure tourism and Victor made this both accessible for non English speakers and encouraged us to learn some Zapotec language. He’s got a super behind each ingredient and we squeezed so much into these few hours—mole, tortillas, and chocolate. It’s hard to describe how much we learned by going to a market and learning what makes quesillo of Oaxaca unique directly from the artisans themselves. I got so much more than just “here’s how to cook this”—more like: here’s what thousands of years of love and history express itself in food. We ate in a group in a long table and by the end, everyone felt like friends.

Amazing Tour
Absolutely amazing tour! Cannot rate Miguel high enough. He was knowledgeable and passionate about his home and it made the places we visited come alive. We never felt rushed during the tour. If you do one tour in Oaxaca this should be it - you won't regret it!

Oscar is a very passionate guy full of knowledge. He was flexible and adjusted the guided tour based on what we said we’re interested in. His English is great! We did this on our very first day in Mexico and now we know what to do with the next days we have here in Oaxaca. Would really recommend!

Transportation as Promised
Our flight arrived early - but by the time we collected our luggage and got through customs - our driver was waiting with a sign with our name on it. We were 4 adults with 5 pieces of luggage. Van was as promised and clean and comfortable. Our driver even stopped at a local gas station store so I could pick up some beers. Driver was a great driver and got us to our location in a timely manner. Would highly recommend

This horse ride takes you...
This horse ride takes you through a beautiful landscape that crosses three rivers and ends at hot springs. Your guides, Willy and his father in law, are excellent and knowledgeable. The horses are very well behaved and the guides are experts in handling the horses. Overall, this is an amazing experience, especially if you love animals and nature.

I learned so much about the Zapotecs
Our trip to Monte Albán was absolutely mesmerizing. The ancient temples, breathtaking views, and fascinating historical insights made it unforgettable. My family also loved learning about alebrijes and black pottery, such rich and colorful traditions! The food along the way was authentic and delicious. The final stop at the convent beautifully tied everything together, offering a glimpse into Oaxaca’s colonial past. Moisés was an excellent guide, knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about the region’s culture and history. I highly recommend this trip for anyone who would like to learn about Oaxaca.

Extremely well worth it for a full day of events
Overall: extremely well worth the price for a full day tour. Highly recommend.
The tour is completely in Spanish, but even if you have a basic knowledge of the language, I still think it’s worth it! We went to Monte Alban for 2 hours which included an introduction and guided tour for about 40 minutes before having the remaining 1.25 hours to explore the ruins by our self’s. After monte alban, we went to a mezcal tasting session. You need to pay $20mxn for the tasting, but it was well worth it because they give you 9 different mezcals to try. You also get to see the distillery process which is beautiful and interesting to learn about. Next was. an alebrijes workshop where we got to shop and browse after hearing about the process of how they’re made. We then went to an absolutely incredible lunch place with a variety of traditional Oaxaca dishes including plenty of both vegetarian and meat options. The rate for this incredible buffet was $200 mxn which $100mxn alcoholic beverages. After lunch we were driven to a town known for its pottery, and that was absolutely wonderful. We had a brief demonstration of the original techniques that come from the region and were given a lot of time to shop. The prices at this pottery place were shockingly (seriously, shocking) affordable considering the beauty, quality, and time taken to make them. I thought we were done after the pottery place but no! Right before we finished, we were brought to a chocolate store outside of the Mercado 20 de noviembre and received a bunch of free samples. A wonderfully fun way to spend a day.
