A good day to explore another part of Newfoundland. I specifically liked to fisherman village where Below got filmed for the Netflix movie and the nice little man from the art boutique that explained the history of his region. The artifact museum was also very interesting. Everything was good! Thank you to our tour guide that was just perfect ans very nice! Just enough talking to learn about the history.

Great overview of St John’s

A small group driver / guide led trip around St John’s. Our leader, Brian is extremely knowledgable and has lots of interesting facts to share. We had about the right time at each stop although for slow walkers it might be difficult to get up to the light house at Cape Spear. We were lucky to see a fisherman bring in his catch.

Absolutely a must-do if you’re visiting!

Absolutely incredible tour. We knew booking that it was the tail end of the season so it was a bit of a gamble but regardless we were mesmerized. The crew was incredible and made us feel so welcome, standing with the guests and explaining the history of the region. We especially want to shout out Glenn, who was incredibly attentive. He took the time to talk to each and every group and answered all of our questions. A perfect example of the Newfoundland hospitality (which is more than you could ever expect). He was aware we were on our honeymoon and went above and beyond to make us feel extra special. We even got screeched in on board! We’ll definitely be coming back during peak season and we cannot recommend this tour enough!

A magical day with the puffins!

6 of us embarked on this magnificent tour during our recent stay in Newfoundland. We were there celebrating our birthdays as a group of friends and were so pleased that we chose Gatherall's. When there was impending weather in the upcoming forecast they quickly connected with us by phone to ensure we had time to reschedule our trip. We were so pleased that they took this initiative ahead of time for us to be able to comfortably move things around. The hospitality in the shop and on the boat was just exquisite, this family run business truly invites you in to share their love of nature and expertise throughout the experience. From the beautiful songs sung as you exit and enter the harbour, to the many interesting facts of the geography, animal life and factual, yet comical, description of a day in the life of a puffin that were shared during the ride exceeded our expectations. We chose to screech in on the boat and could not be happier with that decision, it was a fun filled process that kept you engaged and laughing throughout. We will be sure to recommend to others traveling to Newfoundland. Thank you again Gatherall's, long may your big jib draw!

A little bit of everything.

Barry! You were right! We had lunch at the bagel Café and it was out of this world! This tour was perfect for somebody who doesn’t have a lot of time to spend in St. John’s. You’ll see a little bit of everything in a comfortable van in small groups. Barry was a wonderful host and provided commentary the entire time. There’s plenty of time to look around and take pictures and even do a little bit of shopping. It’s the perfect taste of St. John’s.!

Great value and excellent guide Bill!!

Got off the cruise ship and had a little difficulty finding the bus but once we found where it was parked, we were able to jump on. Tour guide Bill, who is a retired realtor with fantastic knowledge of the city, the hotspots and a great historical perspective. He made the tour a 10 out of 10.

Recommend O’Briens Bay Bulls whale watching boat tour!!!

Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. They did a great job communicating information about the species we saw and the history of the area. Humour added to the entertainment and the fact that we saw Puffins, Minke Whales and Ocean sunfish and other birds was exactly what we were looking for! Boat was comfortable for a large group and no shortage of seating or areas to move about to optimize picture opportunities.

We had a fun experience...

We had a fun experience with the crew who were very accommodating and engaged with everyone on the cruise. We were lucky enough to see 2 humpback whales! The captain was able to circle around the whales for about 30 minutes so everyone was able to see them and take amazing pictures. We were too late to see icebergs but the whales stole the show! Awesome way to spend a couple of hours and enjoy the views of this beautiful island.
