I had an incredible time on the Iceberg Quest Ocean Tour out of St. John’s. The views alone were worth it, with rugged coastline, seabirds, and even a sunfish showing up along the way. Sadly, we weren’t lucky enough to see a whale, but what really stood out, though, was the crew. They were welcoming, knowledgeable, and kept the trip fun from start to finish. A special shoutout to Glen—his hospitality, humour, and charm made the whole experience feel personal and memorable. He’s the kind of guy who makes you want to come back and do it all over again.

Make sure you dress for the weather. The Captain and crew are fantastic. Very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Participating in the “Screeched in” ceremony was a lot of fun.

We were too late in the season to see whales, but still great to get out on the North Atlantic with Barry and his crew. Informative, entertaining, and well cared for.

No whales at this time of the year. We did see Sun Fish.
Good crew, good cruise along the coast. Good time.

Excellent tour guides, beautiful views. No whales or puffins as it's not the right season, but we really enjoyed our time.

Great Captain and crew....we had a beautiful day on the ocean. My husband had difficulty walking and uses a cane. We were boarded first and assisted all the way. Not the right time of year for icebergs or whales but saw some beautiful scenery, Bald eagles and a HUGE ocean sunfish called a Mola Mola. Some people were screeched in aboard a long the way home. Our crew told us about the environment, history, ocean sea life and ships in the harbour. Explained about Signal Hill the light houses at Cape Spear and activities during the war. We loved our day spent with Iceberg Quest. You are free to wander around the boat and met some very nice people aboard.

Very informative. Staff was great, very friendly.
Unfortunately, we did not see whales or puffins based on the time of year.
Great to see the Atlantic coast from the water.

Amazing trip, the crew were so knowledgeable and attentive, the boat was clean and safe.
A brilliant way to see the coastline around St John’s and definitely worth the price!

Its not a real cod for the Screechers ceremony
not for you if you hate wind ,waves and history
Tyler is a boatfull of knowledge

A well run tour.
Friendly and knowledgeable make sure that you see not only the obvious but also those little gems that we would not spot, like the motionless hawk up on the cliffs or the puffins on the water , so small and camouflaged.
However, if you absolutely want to see puffins on the cliffs, then you may have better luck choosing another boat .
To be clear, my friends and I loved our outing; the sights, the crew, the adventure.

It was a nice boat ride and the guide did a great job with all the information he gave us. But don't go expecting to see whales. There are times in the year they aren't around. Gre

You may not see whales depending on the month you go but the crew is fantastic at telling you about whales and puffin as well as iceberg and history of st john and NFL.
Our crew member showed us pics and whales from other trips thanks for that experience on board.
We also got scratched in on the boat with help from the crew it was fun.
My girlfriend does not drink but was surprised that I convinced her to have screech (RUM) for the first time to be screeched by the crew and was thought about at the last second when others started to assemble for it some declined and watched
LOTS OF FUN
Thanks Anthony and Thuy

The captain and crew were very accommodating and provided us with an excellent program regarding the history of Newfoundland, particularly St. John's. Unfortunately, we did not see any whales because the "whale watching season" was just over.

Wonderful boat ride! Beautiful sights and interesting history and facts shared by Crew member Glen, who was fantastic! End of whale season so didn't see a lot of whales, however, so other wildlife and had a great time!
Richard_B, Jul 2025
Great tour, even if we didn’t see whales. Tyler did a terrific job explaining the area and sights as well as the fish and birds. Lucas piloted the boost through choppy waters skillfully Roy answered questions. Together they were a great team.
We did get to see a rare ocean sunfish as some seabirds and 3 pairs of mated eagles.
Terrific time.
denise_p, Jul 2025

Perfect amount of time
Diane_C, Jul 2025
The talk was incredibly interesting, the weather was great, and the beautiful landscape the real star! The huge caves and stories of pirates and treasure. I saw a whale blow then its fin and seabirds flying high. This tour is a great jumping off point for any tourist. Now I want to go to The Rooms to see the pirate treasure.
Narda_S, Jul 2025
A welcoming boat tour with snacks, drinks and an Ugly Stick available on board. Interesting facts about St. John's offered while we boated out of the habour. MAGICAL MOMENTS when we saw a humpback whale and her calf. The entire experience was a joy and next time I am in town I will ride with them again.
frances_W, Jul 2025
