What are people saying about Melbourne

Must do excursion
This was a wonderful excursion and a must do. Phillips island is a quaint location and worth the short trek from Melbourne. Nice sightseeing spots for pictures and beautiful views. The penguins were the highlight of course. Take layers of clothing and a beanie hat. It was windy and a regular hat or cap will blow off your head. It can get quite chilly at night by the water.

Close up and also in-situ wildlife viewing
My tour's guide and driver, Michael, gave us all an excellent ecotourism experience! He was informative, friendly, and easy to listen to. I didn't expect to get the information about the skyscrapers and the historic buildings, so that was an unexpected bonus. And of course lots of information about the penguins, the wallabies, and the protected bird species. I think the amount of time at each stop on the tour was just right, although I could also have been happier with more time. Michael told us exactly when to arrive and where to sit to get the best view of the penguins. The experts predicted low numbers, but I was delighted to find that over 100 penguins came up onto the beach that evening! This tour gave me some great local information, some future spots to check out, and some spots to return to with friends.

The Philip Island tour...
The Philip Island tour was a great experience. Our tour guide Mark provided great commentary along the way about Australian history as well as facts about the animals and landscapes we saw. The penguins were definitely the highlight - so great to see them up close!

Great Ocean Experience
Great full day experience! Our tour guide Rafi was a wonderful story-teller for many of the places we drove past and an incredibly safe driver on the winding roads. He put in extra effort to find koalas and kangaroos which was really nice.
It's a lot to fit into one day and I would recommend it for anyone who wants to see as many sights in a short amount of time.

Great ocean rosd
It was a beautiful drive by ocean road. It is windy and won’t recommend for those who have motion sickness. We saw koala bears and kangaroos and enjoyed the beauty of the 12 Apostles. Our driver Steve went out of his way to make sure we saw lots of koala bears and kangaroos and made the trip enjoyable. . We were visiting from Toronto and would highly recommend it.

My friend, visiting from...
My friend, visiting from overseas who I took on this tour enjoyed it. For a Melbourne local, the historical aspect of the places we went to (most of which I’ve seen from private visits in the past) that Bill, our tour guide shared was a what I appreciated most. Having a smaller tour group was also good.

The hosts at every venue...
The hosts at every venue were awesome and kept the great wine flowing. Shoutout to Gil, our driver and guide he was top-notch and kept the whole trip entertaining from start to finish. Highly recommend letting Gil drive you around for an afternoon of drinks.

We had a great tour of...
We had a great tour of the Moonlit sanctuary and headed to the Penguin Parade. We were disappointed that we didn’t find out until 15 minutes before arriving at the Penguin Parade that photos of the penguins were not allowed. The description of the tour should mention this. Even some of the tourist photos show the penguins and those should be removed.

Great Ocean Road
This tour was very nice and convenient to see the great ocean road! It was nice to relax and enjoy the scenery with the ocean on your left hand side throughout the drive. Our tour guide Peter was a great and knowledgeable guide! Would love to take another tour with him. Our group took return times seriously and we were able to get back on time to Melbourne. The sights and group were great!

Puffing Billy Dandenongs tour with Explore Australia
Great tour guide - Michael was friendly, informative, and took us safely to and from our destination. He also took photos of us and gave relevant local advice. Thanks, Michael!
Tour ran on time (in fact, we left 8 minutes early as everyone was ready to go!) with no issues. Tour bus was new, clean and comfortable. Great way to see the Dandenongs and go on the Puffing Billy if you don't want to drive.

Incredible tour! Highly recommend!!
Outstanding tour with great venues (wineries + distillery) providing a good variety of wines & gins to try.
I would highly recommend this TeePee Tour to anyone looking for a “laid back” experience in the Yara Valley!!
The tour start to finish was incredibly professional, great communication from Andrew on pick up location and details about the tour itself, and nothing but excellent customer service throughout.
Our tour guide for the day, Matt, is an incredible guy who made the experience a memorable one. He shared his knowledge about the area and venues; however did not continuously natter for the sake of it. Matt also answered questions thoroughly, ensured everyone felt welcome on the tour, and accommodated late minutes requests from parties on the tour. His driving was very professional and we felt safe at all times.
The wineries provided a rounded tasting experience, giving good sample sizes of each wine on the itinerary, plus a few bonus samples of additional wines available for those who had a particular interest in other available options the winery had on offer. All without being pretentious, or making people feel they had to be a wine snob to enjoy the experience.
Lunch at Hubert Estate was delicious, the pizza was delicious and perfectly timed to help soak up the alcohol consumed in the morning, ready for gin tasting in the afternoon (or wine tasting instead of gin if preferred).
The chocolatiers to finish allowed the tour to be more than simply “wine tasting”, but an introduction into what the Yara Valley has to offer.
There is an option to only go to wine venues throughout for those who only want to sample wine; but personally the blend of wineries, a distillery and the chocolate factory did not over stimulate the taste buds or make confuse the tastings… which will allow for further purchases from the venues directly for the wines/gins we liked.
Huge thank you to Andrew for all the comms and work put into the itinerary; and a bigger thank you to Matt for making the day a great one!

Not seeing something you are looking for?
When people come to Melbourne, they don't come to only see the city's attractions. They also come for the great Melbourne day trips that let you experience more of Victoria while staying comfortably in Melbourne. Take it easy as you're driven out to your pick of beaches, coastal attractions, wine valleys, and wildlife sanctuaries—the latter of which lets you see Australian wildlife including penguins and koalas. You can also make the most of Australia's seasons, from hitting the slopes in the ski fields in winter (June–August) to walking to waterfalls in the warmer months (December–February).
