Top Lamego How to Get Around in 2026

Experience the unique culture and landscapes of northern Portugal’s Douro Valley on this full-day excursion. With a private guide, visit several wineries to learn about the area’s rich winemaking traditions and take in the views of the UNESCO-listed wine terraces at many viewpoints. Your day concludes with a relaxing “Rabelo” boat ride along the Douro River.

Escape the crowds and enter the private world of the Douro. While most tours take you to crowded commercial cellars, we open doors that are closed to the general public. You will not just visit a "Quinta"; you will be invited to a private lunch at our 14th-century Solar and you will have the opportunity to talk about wines with Teresa, owner of a boutique producer, while they taste their best harvests. Guided by two local brothers, this experience focuses on authentic connection and not just seeing monuments. You’ll travel in a premium Mercedes wagon, sail the river in a traditional boat with Porto wine in hand and discover the “liquid gold” of the Truta family in their handmade olive oil lagar. This isn’t a guided tour — it’s a day spent with places that treat you like family. If you’re looking for an exclusive look “behind the gates” on the heritage, flavors and soul of the Douro, this is the right experience for you.

Spend two days savoring Portugal’s Douro Valley on this private all-inclusive wine tour. This region popular for a variety of delicious wines is yours to explore in a private air-conditioned vehicle. You’ll snap photos over the Douro River and visit a typical Quinta for a wine tasting experience. See other sites like a historic train station, visit Lamego and Se’s Cathedral, and drink up a variety of port wines and sample olive oils from around the region.

Lose yourself in the flavors and sights of the Douro Valley with this private guided tour. Travel to Peso da Régua for port wine tasting and views of the Douo River. Drive along the scenic N-222 road through the valley to Pinhão to see its ornate railway station and sample some local olive oil and honey with a visit to another winery.
