Our tour guide, Etsuko, was wonderful. The driver was very experienced and competent. The communication pre-tour with Etsuko was excellent and allowed us to custom make our tour to include the sights we were most interested in. Etsuko was very knowledgeable about each site and was very prepared to provide that information. She was kind and cheerful and enthusiastic about sharing her country's history with us. She kept us on track and on time (all six of us) and navigated the crowded venues ensuring that we had quality time at the most important locations. Very professional, but still personal. She even took some great photos of our family! We ended our tour at a great restaurant that she recommended that accommodated our food preferences. Overall, just a great experience and we highly recommend it.

Authentic tea ceremony experience

So glad we did this. This could have been very touristy, but it felt very authentic to me. They dressed us in kimono (we got to select the pattern), and did the women's hair. Then we took pictures in a small garden while the other couple in the group got ready. Next, we observed a shortened tea ceremony with a tea master. They took us through each part, we got to ask questions and then try it ourselves. It was a very special experience and I'm so glad we did this!

Best time in Kyoto!

This was one of the best experiences of our trip to Kyoto. Our guide, Rhea (also known as Sarah), was wonderful—friendly, knowledgeable, and flexible. She adjusted the itinerary to match our family's interests and pace, which made the tour feel very personalized. Traveling with two teenagers can be challenging, but she kept everyone engaged and made the day enjoyable for all of us. We learned so much about Kyoto while also discovering places we would never have found on our own. Great tour to see famous Kyoto spots!

This was a great way to see many of Kyoto’s famous spots in one day! Hiroko was an amazing guide!!! She went above and beyond anything I have experienced on a tour. Hiroko was so joy filled and willing to help. Even during the down time on the bus she shared fun facts and trivia. This is definitely a long day so be ready for that, but I think a good system for seeing these sites that are harder to get to yourself. I recommend!

One of the highlights of our Japan trip. What a blast. We were on a small group tour to Japan and invited about 6 of our other tour members to join us on this excursion. Loads of fun. A couple of Sumo wrestlers gave a demonstration along with a few practice rounds. Made it fun and entertaining. Also gave audience members an opportunity to wrestle them at the end of the show. The tour also provided a short Geisha show. Included all the food and drink you wanted (from a limited menu that included some alcohol) during the show. The service was prompt and attentive. Would definitely do again with friends.

The class was great. It was actually very hands on... you really make your own ramen with lots of elbow grease. The staff was great and efficient. Tuyo was the lead instructor and kept it entertaining and educational. You are able to choose from two different kinds of stock and between miso, soy, salt, or blend. You also get all of the delicious toppings. Their is no pork in this ramen either. Definitely recommend for solo, groups, and families. You also receive a photo, certificate, and bandana.
