My family and I were very fortunate to be able to book with Shawn at the last minute. We all met at Nakano station on time and were swiftly on our way to catch a glimpse of Mt. Fuji. I can't say enough great things about Shawn. From the moment we got in the car Shawn was very interactive and social with everyone. We spoke about Mt. Fuji, food, music and everything Japan. Thankfully we had an absolutely beautiful day and got amazing views and pictures of Mt. Fuji. Shawn shared some local spots with us that were less crowded and offered beautiful views. He was so patient and kindly took all the pictures we asked of him which was so nice. The lunch Shawn prepared was delicious and went very well with the sake tasting that he also has as an option. We toured the waterfalls near by which were stunning and another spot for cherry blossoms that was breathtaking. I highly recommend booking with Shawn as guide. He is a great person who loves his job and cares about providing the best tour possible.

Our guide, Kevin, with Countyside Tours is an animal whisperer! We were up close and personal with elephants, lions, zebras, rhinos, giraffes, hippos and more! He is a wonderful guide who knows how and where to spot the more elusive critters. Some of the highlights include lions approaching a mixed herd of prey, bull elephants sparring, and a big daddy bull elephant coming to the lake edge to hydrate! Our group included three women from the USA. We loved the entire safari experience and service we received. Beyond the animals, Kevin stopped at a great coffee shop/pizzaria/souvenir shop on the way to and from the park; talked to us about some of the villages we passed through, and was all around knowledgeable and friendly. Yes, it’s a bumpy road but you’re in a national park, it should be expected. Highly recommend the hour boat tour add on. The bagged lunch was meh. I recommend grabbing something from your hotel or the coffee shop on the way.

I was traveling solo, the tour was myself and one other person and Olivier was happy to tailor the itinerary based on our preferences. He also took some great photos that he sent afterwards! It was a perfect activity for my first day in Kigali to get to know the city. I would absolutely book again and recommend to anyone!

Exceptional and breathtaking - a MUST!

My guide, Denys, was wonderful. He drove extensively around the national park where we saw a variety of animals Unfortunately, we were unable to find a lion but seeing a giraffe and a zebra in close proximity was truly unreal! We also saw crocodiles, hippos and tropical birds on the boat trip. Kudos must go to Denys and the tour group on the smooth handling and professionalism of organising this trip.
