Overview
Try your hand at traditional Rwandan art when you take this Imigongo painting class during your time in Kigali. Join a small group and learn about Imigongo, a form of traditional Rwandan art that was first created using cow dung. In this class, you’ll be using paint instead of cow dung, but still creating the classic geometric shapes that characterize the art style to make your own masterpiece.

Great fun! A very special type of art. The studio was cosy and our guides friendly and attentive. Even as someone with not much artisitc skill, I managed to design a painting I very much enjoyed.

My husband, my friend, and I recently visited Azizi to paint Imigongo with Theoneste. Theoneste was a fantastic host, sharing the history of Imigongo in a fun, engaging way, telling stories, joking, and laughing with us. We really enjoyed our time there and highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Kigali!

This was an enjoyable date night with my husband. Before we started painting the instructor gave us a brief history lesson on how they started using cow dung. She was the perfect host. We were allowed to bring our own wine and played music 🎶. I definitely recommend if your in Kigali.
