Kigali Walking Tour

Our guide Gloria was terrific and if you wanted a walking tour where you could have great conversations with this intelligent young woman this is the tour for you. Howver there really are no significant landmarks on the walk. Also going all the way to Kigali Heights to come all the way back to the old city is a waste of time. I also think the entrance fee to the women's art gallery was very overpriced.

Regarding the route, Kigali is a city where different attractions are spread out—the art center is in one area, the old town in another, and other landmarks in different locations. That’s why we carefully plan our meeting points and itinerary to make the tour an easy and efficient way to explore everything step by step. We also want to clarify that there is no entrance fee for visiting any of the places on our tour. The women’s art gallery is free to enter, though they do sell artwork to support local artists. This walking tour was a great survey of the city. Our guide - Gloria - was really knowledgeable, friendly, and made the experience lovely. The stops on the tour combined art, views, history, food/drink, and neighbourhoods, along with information about both Kigali and Rwanda as a country. We had a great time and learned a lot!

Unfortunately I would not recommend this tour, our group of 8 participated and all of us agreed it was not worth the $25 each. I didn’t hear any stories or information about the city/ history, which I expect having done many walking tours. It was essentially an escorted walk/ taxi ride between the stops with many of the slower walkers falling way behind and out of the group.

Don't waste your time and money

This was a big waste of time and money. I got nothing out of it. The guy leading the tour has nothing to offer. If this tour isn't removed from the tour offerings then something is very wrong.

Unusual day

I actually found this tour a bit odd. Shark's enthusiasm for the city was infectious, but I found he lacked the story telling I've come to expect from viator tours. The Tour de Rwanda was happening at the same time which certainly affected our movements around the city and definitely his itinerary. It was a different experience. Not bad. Not great.
