The guide was very good - Mr. Bean - very caring and jovial. Motivated to go to the cave despite me having knee problem. The 1st driver that picked us up from Hanoi Hotel was very slow and was all the time talking on the phone. The second driver got us back in less than 2 hours. The set menu was also very delicious and we enjoyed the speed boat too. The scenic beauty of the limestones is just very beautiful

Ha Long Bay is without a doubt one of the most touristy places in Vietnam, so yes—you should expect to see a lot of boats. That said, the bay is so vast that you still constantly find yourself surrounded by towering limestone mountains with seemingly nothing else around. The scenery is simply jaw-dropping, and no photo can truly do it justice. What really made this all-inclusive Bay Cruise special was the small group size. With a maximum of just 14 people on board, the experience felt much more relaxed, cosy, and personal, despite being in such a popular destination. It helped the bay feel less crowded and allowed us to fully enjoy the atmosphere, views, and overall pace of the cruise. Even though Ha Long Bay is busy, this cruise strikes the perfect balance between comfort, intimacy, and experiencing one of Vietnam’s most iconic landscapes. Highly recommended for anyone who wants the magic of Ha Long Bay without feeling overwhelmed.

Fabulous day. The catamaran was very comfortable with loads of space. The sofa and chairs were great for relaxing. There is a bar and a jacuzzi. Waterslides too, for those who like them. Most of all the guide Xin chào was excellent. He kept us well informed, ran the whole day very professionally. The food on board is also excellent. The coach transfer is comfortable.

A Perfect Halong Bay Day Trip

Our one-day Halong Bay tour was simply incredible! Everything was well-organized — from the comfortable pickup in Hanoi to the smooth cruise across the bay. The scenery was breathtaking from start to finish. Sailing past the emerald waters surrounded by towering limestone karsts felt like being in another world. We first visited the Surprising (Sung Sot) Cave, one of the most impressive caves I’ve ever seen! It’s huge and beautifully illuminated, with fascinating rock formations that look like sculptures created by nature. Then came Luon Cave, where we had the chance to kayak or take a bamboo boat through a peaceful lagoon surrounded by cliffs. It was calm, quiet, and so close to nature — definitely one of the highlights of the day. Finally, we stopped at Titop Island, where we hiked up to the viewpoint for a panoramic view of Halong Bay — absolutely breathtaking! After that, a quick swim at the island’s beach was the perfect way to end the trip. Lunch on the cruise was delicious with fresh seafood and Vietnamese dishes, and our guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and funny. This was an absolutely incredible experience I would recommend to everyone visiting Vietnam. Our tour guide Hana was 10/10 explaining the local culture of fisherman, differences between Lan Ha Bay and Halong Bay and explaining the surrounding area throughout the tour. The bus picked us up and dropped us off right at our air bnb in Old Town Hanoi where we had a 3 hour bus (including 1 hour ferry) to Cat Ba island where you board the boat. We went for about 1.5 hour tour along the bay to our kayaking location where we explored multiple caves and attempted to find some local monkeys. Lunch was included and we had a few hour break to go swimming. Then we explored a local fish research center where we were taught about the aquaculture (different types of fish). I felt that the excursion didn’t feel too touristy and we were able to receive a more authentic experience!
