What are people saying about Guadalajara

Incredible Experience
My tour guide, Daniel, was passionate and knowledgeable about the ruins, regional culture, and cuisine. Without spoiling too much, regarding the Guachimontones ruins, whilst the civilisation shared similar structures to other cultures throughout central america (e.g. pyramids and game courts), their practices were very different. Daniel was more than happy to explain in both English and Spanish. The tour of the distillary was very interesting, as they not only explained how tequila is made, but also an explinations as to different usages of agave, how pure tequila is made, and alternative methods or ingredients other distillaries may use to expedite the process. The distillary also provided samples of tequila with different alcohol concentrations (from about 55% to a 0% alternative). Finally we finished by exploring and eating near Plaza Principal de Tequila. In summary, a great way to spend a day and get to know just one aspect of Jalisco's rich culture and history.

The Fire Tour was the best tour we took during our stay in Guadalajara. Our guide, Alejandro, was fantastic--very knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and friendly. The activities were interesting and a good variety. We especially enjoyed the Guachimontones ruins and the tequila distillery and tasting. We could have done with less time in the town of Tequila as it was very touristy. What a great day!

Worth the Experience
Such a fun and scenic experience. Our guide, Javi, knows his stuff. He shared great insights of the locations visited and offered to assist finding anything we desired. The trip is concentrated about an hour from the city center and the ride can be a bit bumpy, but well worth it. The towns were relaxing and beautiful to wander around in. I traveled solo and wanted to join a small group of others and this was a great option. Overall there were two couples and two solo travelers. If you want a day trip to escape the city, this is your best bet. Drink lots of tequila and ask lots of questions. Guaranteed good time! Total time was 10:30-7pm take-off to return.

This day trip was the whole enchilada!
We had a driver and a tour guide, Ramon, who is very knowledgeable about tequila. We were picked up at our hotel at 8:30 and our 1st stop was the Campo Agavero Ribeño agave fields in Amititan, where we were presented with a session on the agave growing process, then given a tasting of the some ery good artisinal tequilas. We then visited an artisinal tequila distiller, "Los Tres Tonios," where we had a comprehensive tour of the artisan and modern production facilities followed by an excellent tasting session. We then visited the town of tequila for a delicious lunch. I wish we had a bit more time to experience the town before our tour of the Jose Cuervo facilities. It was a great tour, but not as intimate and detailed as the one at Los Tres Tonios. The entire trip was 9 hours, with 3 hours on the road. I highly recommend this tour. We took a hotel booked tour to Lake Chapala a few days later and it was awful.
