What are people saying about Edinburgh

I have taken several solo...
I have taken several solo private drivers and Ed was without a doubt the most knowledgeable of any I have experienced. He arrived on time. His van was comfortable and spacious. He knew the area and the best places to stop. He was generous to spend time where I wanted yet kept me to my schedule. Ed offers to move or adjust your itinerary if you want. We had a delightful lunch overlooking St Andrew’s. We stopped to stretch our legs and showed me where to spend the my time to get the best bang for your buck. If you want the best value book his services. Thanks Ed for an awesome day!

Family Experience-Incredible Memories
Our family had an absolutely incredible experience on this Highlands & Loch Ness tour easily one of the highlights of our entire trip.
Robbie was outstanding. From the moment we started, he was warm, engaging, and incredibly knowledgeable. He didn’t just drive us around—he brought Scotland to life with stories, history, and humor that kept all of us (including the kids) fully entertained the entire day.
What really stood out was how safe and comfortable he made us feel. You can tell he’s a true professional who genuinely cares about the experience of his guests. The day flew by, which says everything.
Seeing the Highlands, Loch Ness, and iconic spots like Urquhart Castle was unforgettable—but it was the little moments that made it special. Watching our kids skip rocks on Loch Ness is something we’ll never forget.
If you’re traveling as a family, especially with kids in that 8–18 range, this is a no-brainer. It’s engaging, fun, and incredibly well-paced.
Bottom line: this experience is worth every penny. If you’re on the fence, book it. You won’t regret it.
Thank you Robbie

Fun 2 Hours at Edinburgh Castle & Royal Mile
We met Linda with Mercat tours in the heart of the Royal Mile on a cold and rainy day. She got us started with a ton of information about Edinburgh history, from people to the buildings and the small things you wouldn’t probably notice just walking by them. She was very knowledgeable, funny, and personable.

Wonderful day with Andre
Andre was wonderful! We learned so much in this private walking tour. He made sure we were near the castle at 1 since my daughter wanted to hear and see the cannon. He showed us the clock that has all the different things in it. He made 6 hours go by quickly

Exceptional experience!
Taimur was an excellent guide. Very knowledgeable about the history of the area. More importantly though, he tailored the experience to what our family (with small children) needed. Our children get motion sickness, so he came prepared with bags and wipes. When the highland roads became too windy for them, he modified his tour to accommodate their needs. When the kids’ batteries ran out, he brought us back to the hotel early while still pointing out the important landmarks along the way. We felt as though we were able to make the most of the experience despite the motion sickness, rain, and dwindling social batteries of our children. Highly recommend for a tailored Scottish highlands experience!

Best Way To Get Introduced To Edinburgh
This tour was the perfect way to see all the highlights of Edinburgh. Sarah was a fantastic guide and was a wealth of knowledge. She also suggested many vegan restaurants for us and fun shopping areas. Book this today, you won’t be disappointed. Make sure to get Sarah if you can, she was absolutely amazing!!!

One of the BEST days of my life.
We traveled to Scotland from the America last month (over New Years). My 3 friends and I did the private Highlands tour with Taimur as a tour guide/driver. The tour itself was great but Taimur made the trip incredible. We saw so many amazing places (Luss being our favorite)—it was totally comfortable and relaxing but also stimulating thanks to Taimur. We would go from beautiful place to beautiful place at our own pace, and Taimur had wonderful stories and insights at every stop. When we wanted to be quiet and just soak it in, we could. But when we wanted to learn and absorb information, Taimur was there to tell us stories and answer any and every question.
Many of the highlights weren’t even the sites themselves, but instead the conversation and funny banter we had with Taimur on the longer parts of the drive.
As Americans, we came to Scotland without much context and knowledge, but we left with what feels like a true and deep understanding of Edinburgh, Glasgow, the highlands and Scotland itself. 5 out of 5 stars for the tour— 10 out of 5 stars for Taimur. My brother is going to Scotland with his family this Summer and I told him this trip with Taimur is absolutely mandatory. (Not to mention my fiancée and I are literally planning a summer Scotland trip for next year so we can do the tour with Taimur again and bring our daughter this time.)

Fab experience in Edinburgh the drivers of the city sightseeing were simply amazing, really friendly, good spirit, helpful and knowledgeable. My children and I had the best time going through the various sights. Thank you very much for a lovely break in your amazing city

Must Do!
This was a highlight of our trip to Edinburgh. Mark was our guide and we had such a great experience trying fantastic Scottish dishes as well as some unusual treats. We tried plenty of food and beverages to get good value from the experience. Mark is a fun guide guide that felt like a local friend showing us around town. We are travel writers and this is the type of experience we always hope to get as we explore the world. Highly recommend!

A wealth of knowledge
Alan was a wealth of knowledge about Edinburgh; he know all the stories to go along with each location. He was on time, and very flexible adjusting the itinerary to accommodate my wife’s mobility issues. We will not hesitate to book again when we return in 2026.

Easy intro to Edinburgh
This was the perfect introduction to Edinburgh. Our guide was Doug Scott, a local resident, who walked us around the city to see the highlights. He gave us a bit of history, a bit of humor, and some great suggestions for what to see after our time together. He went at our pace and answered our questions. Not only did we get the historical side of things, we also got a local's view of the new monarch, political climate, and his feelings for his town in general.

You can enjoy rich...
You can enjoy rich history of Scotland by walking through interesting places hidden in the city of Edinburgh. Our friend Jamie is an amazing guide for this tour, who shared with me his deep knowledge and appreciation of this town. His enthusiasm ushered me into unforgettable exploration of the culture and, of course, whiskey!

Not seeing something you are looking for?
When you’re visiting Edinburgh for the first time, trying to cover the centuries of history that have shaped Scotland's capital can feel daunting. Instead of relying on your phone or guidebook, delve deeper into the city's heritage on an Edinburgh private sightseeing tour. You'll experience the city through the eyes of a local, either by walking or driving, and can tailor your tour to include local food tasting or even cover filming locations on a Harry Potter-themed tour.
