During this adventure we will take you to know some of the most beautiful schist villages of Serra da Lousã as well as the breathtaking landscapes that this unique place has to offer… It includes a jeep ride through the Lousã mountain range and a visit to the beautiful Schist villages in the morning and a walk of about 6 km and an intermediate level of difficulty in the afternoon along some of the most beautiful trails in the mountain.

Along this walk we will visit several schist villages where we will take you to imagine what it would be like to live in this summer refuge for shepherds and farmers. Follow and listen to the melody of the waters of the River Mondego and the River Alva, feel the “good air” of Penacova contouring your face and discover windmills and watermills while the green mountains will accompany you.

A great choice for history buffs, this tour takes you to several important religious sites. Visit the Church of the Most Holy Trinity, Chapel of the Apparitions, Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary, and the Monastery of the Battle. Our adventures are not just made of Nature and proof of this is our visit to the historic village of Monsanto In 1938, this was considered the most Portuguese village in Portugal and was awarded the silver rooster that it still proudly displays today on its Lucano tower. In this village everything seems magical, its location on the slope of a granite outcrop meant that the village's inhabitants built houses using the huge boulders as part of the housing structure, often defying the laws of physics. At the top we find the Monsanto castle which still shows its grandeur and the ingenuity of the Portuguese people who built it, also becoming known in recent years for being one of the settings for the famous series "Game of Thrones" All of this will always be accompanied by breathtaking landscapes and unforgettable displays of nature.

The Roman Empire had an enormous weight in our culture and evidence of this can be found everywhere in the Sicó area. In this adventure, we will discover the complex of the Roman Ruins of Conímbriga where you will be able to contemplate the architectural capacity of the Roman people and the way they lived. From here we will head towards another “ex-libris” of this region, the Buracas do Casmilo, majestic geological formations that were once complexes of underground caves that are now exposed to the surface. We take a leap back in time and arrive in Penela to visit the imposing Castle that occupies a large part of the town and which since the beginning of Portugal has been an important part of Mondego's defensive line. Finally, we will see remnants of a structure that was used to defend against attacks such as the Castle of Germanelo, here more than the castle is the view that plays the main role. On this tour we will visit the most popular places southwest of Coimbra. In Fátima we will go to Aljustrel, the place where the little shepherds lived and in the Sanctuary we will visit the Basilicas and the Apparições Chapel. We continue to Batalha to visit the Monastery of Santa Maria da Vitória. Imposing, it stands out for its monumentality and the stone tracery on the outside, marks that make it easily identifiable. After Batalha we drive towards the sea, to the village of Nazaré where we will begin our visits at the Sanctuary, Sítio, Northern Beach to view the waves and ending in the labyrinthine and narrow streets of the village. At a time to be agreed, we will return to the starting point, Coimbra.

On this tour of Açor Mountain we invite participants to a rural experience where nature is queen. After pick up in Coimbra we head towards the Historic Village of Piódão. We get lost walking through the steep and narrow labyrinthine streets where we are easily surprised by the architectural beauty of every corner. At lunchtime, we suggest a typical restaurant to taste the local delicacy, the Chanfana. On the way back to Coimbra, in the Protected Area of Mata da Margaraça, we walked for a while to realize the biodiversity of the abundant spontaneous vegetation in the forest. We also include a visit to the Fraga da Pena waterfall. Right next door, we also visit the Schist Village of Benfeita and after walking through the charming village, we head towards the starting point, in Coimbra.
