Since 2019, we are the first to offer Vernazza an experience dedicated to preparing pesto in the mortar, combining cooking, territory, conviviality, and tasting. You will learn to prepare pesto by hand, using selected ingredients. The experience takes place in a typical Cinque Terre cellar, with stone and wood, reminiscent of the atmosphere of old Vernazza. 12:30 - PESTO CLASS We will start with wine, focaccia, cheeses, and extra virgin olive oils. You will prepare your pesto in the mortar while tasting a second wine. The pesto will then be used to dress the gnocchi which you will eat with a third wine. We will conclude with limoncello and chocolate. 3:00 PM or 5:30 PM – PESTO SNACK CLASS After a taste of wine, you will prepare the pesto in the mortar while tasting a second wine. We will accompany it with focaccia, cheeses, oils, and a third wine. Finally, a real little shoe with bread and focaccia directly in the mortar! If you want the class in French, communicate it at the time of the reservation.

The Cinque Terre offer countless little-known trails rich in history and ancient traditions; thanks to the use of high-performance e-bikes and the words of local guides, you can immerse yourself in beautiful, intimate landscapes and admire the view from a fascinating perspective: a 360-degree view from above, skirting centuries-old terraces, rows of vineyards, olive groves and small villages nestled between inaccessible hills; we will cycle in a part of the "wine trail" to discover closely how these places rich in history and set in the Mediterranean scrub have marked the history of the Cinque Terre. You can then relax on the terrace of the Agriturismo with sea view and enjoy a cutting board full of local products and a glass of Cinque Terre wine. The bikes are not suitable for people under 165 cm in height and for those who are not used to cycling. Pesto class & Wine tasting Unique opportunity to get to know our cellar, its history, its wines, the heroic viticulture of the Cinqueterre. -Vineyard tours: We will take you on a tour of the BarCa cellar and the historic vineyards of the Barrani-Capellini family, illustrating the different winemaking processes, from grape harvesting to bottling. -Wine tasting: You will taste the different types of wine: BarCa Cinqueterre DOC, Rosaluna rosé wine and Memento cru white wine directly in the vineyard overlooking the sea, far from the tourist chaos of the Cinqueterre. -Pesto class: The tasting will be accompanied by a pesto class where you will be the one to cook your basil pesto directly in the mortar, discovering the secrets of the family recipe! Your Wine School is nestled above the Ligurian Sea in Monterosso, offering an intimate, educational tasting experience led by one of the town’s oldest families. Sessions begin daily at 12:30 PM and include a warm family welcome, with an introduction to the region’s rugged terroir, traditional winemaking methods, and the history of Cinque Terre wines. Enjoy a curated tasting flight featuring two local Cinque Terre white wines, a delicate Cinque Terre wine, regional red, and the renowned sweet Sciacchetrà, all paired with freshly prepared Ligurian dishes such as focaccia, anchovies, fried cod fritters, polenta fries, and seasonal favourites, made daily using organic or local ingredients. You’ll also receive food-pairing guidance in a relaxed setting, followed by a Q&A wrap-up and time to enjoy sea views or explore Monterosso al Mare. Held on the sea-view terrace, this 2 to 2½-hour experience includes café at the end, ideal for couples, small groups, or special occasions.

Take a walk on one of the lesser-known but most fascinating trails of the Cinque Terre. After a quick but engaging visit to the town of Vernazza, we will start climbing along the fascinating mule track towards the Sanctuary of the Madonna di Reggio (about 1 hour) at an altitude of 330 meters. During the climb, we will admire beautiful views of the Cinque Terre coast with its characteristic terraces supported by kilometers of dry-stone walls, where olives and grapes are cultivated to produce prestigious wines. In front of the shaded Sanctuary Square stands a monumental cypress (the oldest in Liguria!) and a majestic leccio. Before going down, we will visit the fascinating olive grove of Azienda Agricola la Bottega, where Ligure DOP extra virgin olive oil is produced. It will also be an opportunity to visit two cute ponies, which are the mascots of the farm. During the tour you can enjoy a glass of DOC 5 Terre wine accompanied by the typical Ligurian focaccia.
