Initially had our trip cancelled but we were offered another day or a refund. We were able to enjoy the trip and saw sea turtles as promised. The snorkeling was good and we also learned information about the island.

My husband and I took this tour on March 24, 2026. We didn’t have a good experience because we’re not strong swimmers. This didn’t seem to be a tour from a company. A guy picked us up in a pickup truck. Two other people were on the tour also. He had masks available, but we had to clean the sand off before we could use them. He had a total of three flotation devices and one of them was torn up. Mine was missing the vertical strap. My husband and I finally saw one turtle about the size of your hand. The others who claimed to be strong swimmers saw two or three. The three-star rating in generous.

Amazing Bonaire is a registered local tour company, and we specialize in small-group guided experiences rather than large bus-style tours. This allows for a more personal and flexible approach in natural environments.
This tour requires participants to be able to swim comfortably, as it involves active snorkeling in open water. This was according to the guide you had, and as you mentionef as well, not the case with you. Although this is clearly mentioned in the tour description. When guests are not able to swim at a basic level, it limits how far we can explore and therefore what can realistically be seen.
For guests who are able to swim, turtle sightings are very common and in most cases multiple turtles are seen. During your tour, other participants who were comfortable in the water were able to explore more freely and did see additional turtles.
All wildlife we encounter is completely wild and undisturbed. We do not feed or interfere with the turtles, which means sightings can never be guaranteed 100%, but we do maintain a very high success rate.(We had 2 trips where no turtles were seen, and those tours were fairly componsated afterwards while the participating guestss were actually still pleased even though they didn't see turtles, they saw many other things)
Regarding equipment, all essential gear is provided and used daily in a saltwater environment. Used gear gets rinsd and checked every day. It may show signs of use but is safe and functional. Guests are always welcome to bring their own gear if they prefer, but we provide perfectly fine and specially chosen to be well-suited for our tours.

They never picked us up...we waiting for 1 hour plus with little to no communication... they kept making us feel like it was all our fault yet they never wrote down our booking.
Then we made a mistake on another booking but canceled within there 24 hour cancelation policy and they refused to refund us!
Dont use this company if anything goes wrong ypu are screwed!!!

We’re honestly surprised to read this because the situation you describe doesn’t match any booking we have on record.
All bookings made through Viator are automatically registered in our system, so it isn’t possible for a reservation to exist without us having the details. We also always send clear meeting instructions and normally stay in contact if anyone has trouble finding the meeting point.
Regarding cancellations: we follow Viator’s policy strictly. If a booking is canceled more than 24 hours in advance, guests are always refunded. We would never refuse a refund when it falls within that window.
Because of this, it sounds like there may have been a misunderstanding or a mix-up with another booking. If you reach out to us with your booking name or reference number, we’re happy to look into it and clarify what happened.

The original trip date had to be canceled because snorkeling at the turtle spot was not permitted on that day. Rather than compromising the experience and/or safety of our clients we offered an alternative date or a full refund. We’re glad you were able to reschedule and enjoy the tour as intended, with turtle sightings, good snorkeling, and some insight into Bonaire along the way.

Jim is a knowledgeable guide. He found turtles right away. He was helpful with putting snorkel gear on. He knew exactly where to swim and find turtles. He taught us so much about the island!

A "rocky" start but a great ending. We started the day off with some misscommunication with the pick up time and location but it was resolved and we were on our way to Snorkel with the Turtles. We spent approx 45 minutes and then were on our way to the Marine park to see the flamingos. The surprise was when we were taken for drinks to a local bar at Jibe City Beach Bar and we were able to watch the windsurfing. We were returned to meeting spot at the end of the day.

This was a fun activity that did not include a boat! We snorkeled from the shore near the salt pier and saw turtles and lots of other fish. From there we drove around the south end of the island and saw the flamingoes…then to the east side to watch the kite surfers and enjoy a beverage! The guide was great!

Our guide did a wonderful job of showing us the marine life in the waters just off shore. We were able to easily walk-in to the ocean and begin seeing fish immediately. He was conscientious in regard to safely and knowledgeable about the area. It was just the right level of activity, which was finished by a local spot to have a quick bite of food while sitting right on the water.

Krista was an amazing guide! Very knowledgeable about everything we saw. Since we had the time, she took us back to our cruise ship the long way so we could see/ learn more. And snorkeling was amazing! She made sure we saw so much wildlife! 100% recommend! This company in general is great. I forgot my phone in the truck and had no service to call so I only had email. They responded very quickly and he met me to get it back to me. I so appreciate quick response I got!

Our guide, Jim, was great! He knew just the spot to see turtles and other reef fish. We were able to snorkel right off the shore. After seeing lots of fish and turtles, we took a drive and got to see wild donkeys and flamingos. Totally worthwhile excursion.

We saw several turtles and flocks of flamingos. Our guide was very knowledgeable.
We also took a little stop at Sorobon Beach which was the only part of Bonaire not included on an earlier tour of the island we had taken earlier in the week.
Being picked up directly at our hotel made the excursion very convenient.

Jim was great, very knowledgeable. It was a great experience to have our own personal tour vs. the cruise ship options that were larger groups. We truly had a personalized experience. I've snorkeled a few times and this was the best, we saw so much, and Jim gave up facts along the way.

Great snorkeling, Jim even joined us in the water to make sure we saw turtles and many tropical fish. We also saw wild donkeys and many flamingos. His car is in rough shape, though, so be forewarned.

We managed to see two turtles and pink flamingos which was the objective of our activity. However, our stopover was short and our activity started 90 minutes late due to a mechanical problem suffered by a colleague of our guide. Our activity was therefore reduced by 45 minutes and was deprived of a stop in a very beautiful beach. Our guide was kind and helpful. Without this bad luck, our activity would have been magnificent.

Wir hatten das Privileg alleine mit unserem Guide zu schnorcheln. Der Guide war erneut - wie zuvor beim Nachtschnorcheln - sehr sympathisch und ging auf unsere Wünsche ein. Trotz relativ starkem Wellengang und Regen bedingt, war die Sicht etwas beeinträchtigt. Aber wir haben dennoch viele Schildkröten und weitere Meeresbewohner gesehen. Anschließend wurden noch die Flamingos besucht :-)

Schnorchelausflug ist zu empfehlen.
Wir haben zwar nicht so viele Schildkröten gesehen aber dafür unzählige verschiedene Fische und anschließend zeige er uns die Flamingos

yes unfortunatly due to turtles getting sick (natural cause) there were fewer of them around, this is, even when they are healthy, always a possibility with any activity working with nature and wild animals. We did get to see a few of them and if you wouldn't have seen any at all we would actually try a second spot (if our availibility your free time left on bonaire allow it ) our believe is to influence nature as little as possible, so we will never lure turtles by feeding them or something like that. Nature is what we love to show you, but nature is more willing on some days compared to others... I am happy the flamingo's pleased you as i try to make it emjoyable for everyone on a personalized way
