On this unforgettable excursion we will see the old abandoned village Curral velho, with its stone houses and the large salt lake. its beach is a nature reserve and the very rare Fragata bird; we will then go to the nature reserve of the beautiful Ervatao beach, where the carreta carreta turtles lay their eggs; we will then continue to the Morro nero lighthouse with a breathtaking view and the colorful villages of the north. From July until October, we find this spectacle down the beach in the evening where big females come to lay their eggs inside the special nests all made by themselves. This beauty is protected by the government with massive support of the locals who engages the conservancy project every year. Nowadays, there are many associations and ONGs with international support who help the conservancy and protection program. There are a limit of tours and people per night per beach to not disturb the turtle processes, (each operator has a limit number of guests per visit). Here we´ll do the local liquor tasting. Try local spirits: Grogue & Pontche. Next stop: the colorfull town of Fundo das Figueiras to have lunch in the banana plant garden. We'll visit the "Centro de Interpretação Ambiental", this is a museum that focusses on the conservation of sea turtles and wildlife. If that is not really your thing, then you can explore the townn instead.
