This excursion is a must for guests visiting Boavista from July to October!! Starting in November, we offer the tour to see slipperies and bring them into the water, so save them from their enemies the crab! We conduct the excursion in a small group. and each guest will see the entire process of laying eggs. In addition, each participant has enough time to take photos and/or film. We conduct our own Turtlewatch tours and do not give our guests to an agency. Turtlewatch runs from mid-July to November! Reserve your seats now!

Watch turtles lay their eggs

Why turtle watching with Rotcha-Tours? A professional, well-coordinated team that eliminates unnecessary walking on the beaches. Because we work with radio and send the guys ahead with whom we are in constant contact. We will pick you up from your hotel or holiday accommodation at around 6 p.m. After about an hour's drive, we will reach the nature reserve on the east coast of Boa Vista, where 80% of the egg laying takes place. I ask you to wear good shoes and dark and warm clothing! Sometimes we have to be patient, depending on when we can observe the egg laying, we are back at around 11 p.m. 99.9% sighting guarantee.

From July until October, we find this spectacle down the beach in the evening where big females come to lay their eggs inside the special nests all made by themselves. This beauty is protected by the government with massive support of the locals who engages the conservancy project every year. Nowadays, there are many associations and ONGs with international support who help the conservancy and protection program. There are a limit of tours and people per night per beach to not disturb the turtle processes, (each operator has a limit number of guests per visit). Immerse yourself in this adventure and get an experience that will last a lifetime. We cross the whole of Boa Vista Island on the famous cobblestone road created by the farmers of the north, to reach the Ervatao nature reserve, an ideal place for the Carreta Carreta turtles to lay their eggs, which normally takes place from June to October. A beautiful beach and a gigantic and secular baobab. We then continue to the Morro Nero lighthouse and the typical colorful and flowery villages, where time seems to have stopped.
