The Gateway loop trail offers a fantastic moderate hiking experience that will get us back into the hills of the McDowell Sonoran Preserve providing great desert views and experience. On our hike, we will see a wide array of desert plants and cactus, sweeping views of the desert and overlook views of the city. Along the way we generally see lots of desert lizards and birds to add to the great scenery of our hike. This hike is great for the beginning to intermediate hiker and groups of varying capabilities.

All participants must be 8 years and older. **During the summer season, we want to inform all guests that we implement a high temperature policy. We are located in Arizona & during the summer season we can reach triple digit weather. As a company, our guests’ safety comes first therefore when the outside temperature reaches 95 degree Fahrenheit we close the canyon. All tour operations end.

This Trail's difficulty rating is considered easy to moderately challenging (depending on the route you take). The length of the trail is about a 3-mile loop, with an elevation gain of about 242ft, and it's highest grade being 60%.
