We booked the 2 day York Pass for a recent visit as the pass covered all the places we wanted to go and a few more things like the hop on hop off buses too.
Recalling more than one ticket at a time was a nightmare. Ended up writing down the ticket numbers and showing them. When I buy a pass I expect it to be available in my iPhone wallet and be able to send other passes to each user. It would also help knowing which attractions are open on the pass dates
We bought 2 day pass. There were few instructions and very confusing. The pass was dated 7th May and could not be used on the 8th. Very disappointing as we were planning to visit Castle Howard on the 8th. Not very good value at £150
A perfect way to pull together all that York has to offer with this discount pass. Absolutely fantastic.
Really great value, we got to do some many different attractions just make sure you pre book the attractions you need to pre book and plan your itinerary to fit everything in, we did 10 attractions over 2 days
The York city pass can be worth the money. It cost £75 each for this pass for 2 days, and we would have spent well over that if bought all tickets individually. Only downfall with it is, you need to pre book the majority of the attractions to guarantee your space.
Great value for money. There is so much to do in york and it is all within walking distance. We managed to visit Jorvik, the tork dungeons, the castle museum, the tor bus, the tower and York minster in one day. Most attractions can be pre-booked.
Amazing value for what it includes, I got the 2 day pass and got through a lot of the attractions! Would have cost a lot more to do them all paying separately.
We enjoyed everything!
We are so much prepared and booked beforehand, and everything goes smoothly.
We went to a lot of attractions and made the most of it.
Absolutely disgusted. We paid for a 2 day tour for 7 people @ £75.00 person on the via the Viator App. On the second morning our tickets were all invalid. I used your WhatsApp facility and was told nothing could be done to help us. It's a disgrace that this is the way customers are treated. I have deleted the app and will advise everyone via Facebook to do the same. Money taken with no service delivery.
HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE! I was sold hop on hop off with entry to attraction! NO TRANSPORTATION WAS INCLUDED! I had to purchase transportation with AN OTHER company! I DID NOT USE THIS SERVICE AT ALL AND THEY REFUSED TO REFUND ME! The agent at Viator blatantly lied to mevto make a sell
As somebody who previously used the previous version of the Visit York Pass, I decided to use this Pass as a means of pre-paying for the majority of the attractions I visited whilst I was in York.
On the main, The Visit York Pass represented good value for money as I managed to visit enough attractions to ensure that the total entrance fees were more than the total value paid - I bought one 3 day pass and one 1 day pass.
However, due to the majority of the attractions in York operating timed entries, you have to plan ahead so that you make the most out of your card, ideally by selecting attractions that are near to each other so you're not running around the city between attractions. As somebody who isn't able to rush around on a hot day, this did put a bit of a dampener on the four days and I felt like I needed another holiday after the four days I used the York Pass to recover
Another tip I'd suggest is if you're there for multiple days, save the Hop-On Hop-Off Bus Tour until later in the day. (I used this attraction later on the day of my second pass so that the 24 hours that the ticket was valid ran into the next day when I was in York and didn't have a York Pass).
If I had one request, please could the company who runs the Visit York Pass create a longer pass than the current three day version. As the majority of attractions in York operate on timed entry, it'd help make the trip a little more relaxing and a little less like trying to plan a military operation
Excellent value for money , multitude of experiences available . We bought the 3 day pass and it was well worth the price . We will definitely use the York Visitor pass again.
Worth every penny. Managed to fit in around 10 venues on Sunday. Even the rain couldn’t put us off. Enjoyed it so much will go again.
The selection of attractions was great ended up going to a couple of attractions I wouldn't have considered if they weren't on the pass. Make sure to check the attractions list before you go as some of these need to be booked in advance on the attractions websites directly. Overall I found it great value for money with what was included.
A great opportunity to see all the delights that York has to offer. A beautiful city filled with history. York Pass is a fantastic way to see the culture & history of York without breaking the bank . So much to see by purchasing a York City Pass
On paper this seems like a great deal, but once in York many of the attractions were not allowing me to use them with my York Pass!! Pre-Booking is essential to avoid disappointment!!! Check ALL attractions to see if you need to pre-book! Even though I did this, I was still not allowed into DIG (website did not state pre-booking was required) River cruise was not running due to flooding, Jorvik centre was not allowing York passes (pre-PAID bookings only) due to ride being broken!!! Website is very out of date / not updated with current situation. If I had my time again, I would not buy the 2 day pass I would pay as I go and pre-book the attractions I wanted!!! Viator booking experience however was great!!!
These are fantastic value for money, considering the cost of each individual attraction. This kept the family busy for 2 days
The provided a nice overview of the city, but was only available to us for 24 hours with a two day pass. We visited as many attractions as we could in two days, maybe five in all, but I think it would have less expensive to pay admission at each one of the attractions we visited on our own.
It got easier once we got our tickets, from the ticket office.
I thought they would send a QR code out through email, and so we do not need to go round finding the office. I did get confused on which buses to take I thought the avian busses was free too.
But, overall it was good experience. I love york. Wish I knew that some places was shut on Monday and Tuesday. Thinking it would be open all for the summer holidays.
Great value for money, the Dungeons alone were worth the price if the York Pass.
We took the 3 day pass and have had 3 very busy but full days of learning all about York and its history, well recommended l.
Make sure you do your homework before to plan your days and make your reservations and you’ll get the most of of this pass
Great way to see all the sites, plus you skip the queue as you have already paid Except for the Viking Centre as they have timed bookings Hop on Hop off bus is a great way to get around, and very good at the end of the day for tired feet.
Definitely worth buying as it saves quite a big amount of money. Almost every attraction costs from 7 to 15 pounds, if to visit them separately i would spend a fortune. So the City pass is really a saver. The only thing is that the City pass needs activation in the Visit York centre, which was not clearly stated in the instructions, so when i came to one of the attractions they said that i need to go back and activate it, which was a bit of running around. So plan your time to pop up to visitor centre first to activate the pass and after that you can just enjoy all the attractions. York is a great city!
very good place and view, I love this place. I consider it place for my retirement., this is a great trip
We purchased a 2 day York pass - the first day was really good and we visited various sites in the city and had a great day. The 2nd day we had planned to visit the Birds of Prey however, when we arrived we were told that our pass was not valid for that particular day and we would have to pay the entrance fee. It was suggested to us that we come back another day!! The pass was valid for 2 days only and we were leaving York the next day so obviously we could not come back "another day". This was really disappointing as had we known we would have used the pass in town for one of the other attractions.
So many things to see the pass made it so simple to get on off busses and atractions were easy to get in would recommend
Was given a voucher to pick up Pass. Tour operator never responded to inquiries of where to get Pass. Day of Pass was a holiday so Pass Visitor Center was not opened with no expectation of when they were opening. Spent two hours with Viator chat support with no resolution. Eventually was able to get pass by midday when I saw Visitor Center for Pass had opened but half the day wasted. Recommend not buying Pass through Viator because they can't guarantee delivery. Buy Pass directly from Visitor Center.
Bought the York City Pass for the day. Easy to order and I was able to download the passport for the iPhone. Also need to have the PDF (or print out) of the tickets themselves as it has the number codes that some of the places ask for.
It would be helpful, as another reviewer said, if it explained how to use the pass at each venue with links to the websites/ further information. Some venues allowed you to book your time slot online with the website as it had the option to pay with the pass, whereas some you had to go to the venue itself to book/ or to use.
Still good value for money if you plan in advance.
I bought the city pass them tried to book venues but they then tried to charge me so I think ther should be a link where you can book your attractions on the app of the city pass
Yorvik centre is a must. We also visited the York minster, The Roman Bath House, York Dungeons, The Hilt (Axe Throwing) , Clifford’s Tower, York Museum and used the Hop on Hop off bus. Absolutely fantastic value for money if you plan on covering a lot of the attractions
