What are people saying about York

Great Tour!
Our guide/driver was wonderfully informative and very entertaining! A comfortable coach was provided and our group of travelers was the perfect number for expediency and camaraderie. My wife Ida and I were able to see the most important sites of “All Creatures Great & Small’ plus more places of interest in the Yorkshire Dales area.

An absolutely worthwhile...
An absolutely worthwhile way to see and experience North Yorkshire! If you're trying to decide between this and another similar tour, I can confidently say that going with a small group (max 7 people) was worth it. Greg is owner/operator and was a great guide and host. Highly recommend this tour!

A great history lesson and guide for further exploration
This is a very interesting walking tour. Our guide, Nick, was engaging and extremely knowledgeable.
The meeting place is in front of the statue of Constantine at York Minster. The meeting address states the statue but also states 4 Minster Yard, which is a bit confusing as Minster Yard is down the side, nowhere near the statue!
The walk is fairly easy to negotiate, with plenty of stops where Nick supplies lots of historic information, including the most recent changes. Some pavements are narrow, some streets are cobbled and you do need to be able to climb and descend steps as part of the tour is along the walls.
We really enjoyed it and as a result of the places of interest we went to , we’re planning a return visit to go inside and explore in more detail. Thanks Nick!

A must see!
Enjoyed a wonderful Day Tour…Barry was our driver/guide. Enjoyed all of his commentary and good English humour. The tour was a good pace…unfortunately the train component was cancelled due to bank holiday weekend. However, we were able to spend some additional time in Whitby.

Great fun, and we learned a lot too!
Our guide and driver - Mark - took great care to build a warm relationship with us all at the start of our day’s adventure, briefing us on important safety and “don’t get lost” procedures and building us into a close-knit team. He was an excellent speaker and very knowledgeable about York and the surrounding countryside. His presentation was interesting and engaging. He welcomed questions and answered them with confidence. He took us to a number of locations where we had to be careful of our footing, or where due to crowds we might get lost or separated, but each time, he kept us well informed, well organized and safe. We learned a lot from his presentation, and had a lot of fun too. It was a great and valuable way to spend our day.

Exceptional tour of Yorkshire Dales National Park
It was a fantastic small group tour with a wonderful guide named Pete. We had plenty of time to see the sights and the flexibility to linger at places we especially enjoyed. The emphasis on the “All Creatures Great and Small” experience was welcome, but the scenery holds its own, regardless of your level of interest.

From New York Chaos to English Countryside Peace
I recently had the pleasure of joining a guided solo tour through the English countryside while visiting from New York, and it was one of the most peaceful and enjoyable travel experiences I’ve ever had. I was absolutely mesmerized by the beauty of the countryside, the rich history of the places we visited, and the overall atmosphere of the trip.
What truly made the experience exceptional was our guide, Mark. He was warm, patient, incredibly knowledgeable, and very well-spoken. He created such a calm and welcoming atmosphere throughout the journey, and his passion for the history and culture of the region made every stop more meaningful and memorable.
I usually experience car sickness during long van rides, but surprisingly I felt completely comfortable the entire time, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The pace of the tour was relaxed and thoughtful, allowing everyone to truly take in the scenery and experience the charm of the English countryside.
The entire day felt mentally refreshing and restorative - exactly the kind of experience I was hoping for while traveling solo. You can genuinely tell how much care and passion goes into these tours.
I highly recommend this group tour with Mark to anyone looking for a peaceful, memorable, and beautifully organized experience in the English countryside. Thank you, Mark, for such a wonderful experience! I would gladly book again and recommend this tour to friends and family!

Lost no Longer
A great way to see the city of York. We were confused as to where to board the bus, but ran into several friendly people in a park who helped us. The bus was nearly empty up top. The driver was careful and very friendly. We stayed on the bus for the full round trip and enjoyed seeing other parts of the city in addition to the Shambles.

I loved this walking tour...
I loved this walking tour of York. The city has so much history and it was great to learn about it from a local. Alfred was very knowledgeable, easy to listen to and he answered everyone’s questions. He was very friendly and appeared to love sharing his wealth of information on his home town with visitors. I would definitely recommend this tour. Great value for money as well.

Great day out in The Dales
What a great day out. Even though the weather wasn’t the greatest it didn’t dampen things for us. John was a great leader and full of history and local facts. Highlights included our time in Grassington, Hawks and the visit to Bolton Castle. Such wonderful scenery.

Lovely relaxing trip...
Lovely relaxing trip through the Moors and northern England. Whitby is a beautiful seaside town that definitely should be visited. Our tour group was very small which was wonderful!! The guide, Pete, was very knowledgeable. We enjoyed the day and it was a nice break to go out into the country.
