This was a happy hour cruise where you get 20% off drinks. I didn’t book it for that reason but always an added bonus. Three crew members were friendly and learning some of the history of York was interesting whilst going up and down the Ouse. They play music in between the commentary. One of my long weekend highlights!

Was dark almost straight away so didn't see much, pretty boring as couldn't really hear or understand what was being said through the speaker.

Nice relaxing one hour cruise along the river, with interesting commentary. Enjoyed the fish and chips very much and bought a drink from the bar. A nice way to start off the evening. I took the 6pm cruise ( I had also booked the Happy hour cruise for the following evening, not realising that it is a shared cruise with the Fish and chip bookings. although advertised as two separate trips. Tried to upgrade to have the fish and chips again but crew member said they couldn't complete this request. Following day I ask at the booking stall by the castle and got sent to the ticket stall by the river. Turned out it was the same crew member from the night before - I kind of gave up and didn't take my booked cruise.) But the fish and chips cruise I did take, I enjoyed very much.

A gentle cruise away from the heaving masses on a Saturday evening was so refreshing! Not a great deal to see but some interesting commentary on the bridges. The onboard bar serving snacks and drinks was an added bonus. Overall pleasant experience and worth the ticket price. Only downside, the choice of music was dire. Silence to enjoy the surroundings would have been preferable.

It seemed like much of the cruise was dark with nothing to look at. The staff was good and commentary was fine. The price seemed okay for what was provided.

Nothing unfortunately very dissapointed. More references to the York buildings which were along the riverside. Less attempts at humour more facts would have improved our experience.

Trip outbound done at a pace with a slower return journey. Would suggest that the greenery along the river in the Summer would be obstructive to the views, but being on a boat in the sunshine would make up for that

I booked this because of the great reviews. I wasn't impressed it was worth half the price paid. The commentary was not as great as described. I booked it because of the reviews saying it was really good and funny - reminding me of a similar tour I have been on in the past - it was not that good. The commentary is a prerecorded tape, that is played a a volume which required you to really listen hard to hear it. Funny - the odd bit yes, but not sufficient to remember it in the way. The boat itself was very basic, for the amount of money they are charging it should be refurbished. It would be nice to wipe the seats after rain, have blankets available so it is comfortable to sit outside - it is an evening cruise running in the winter.

Sadly I would not recommend this trip. We sat indoors as it was too cold out, so could not hear the commentary at all. The cabin lights tension on the whole trip so the reflections of cabin activities prevented you from seeing anything there was to see on the outside.
