You get to learn about the cocoa bean and where the company gets theirs from. You get to understand more about how chocolate is made. Making the chocolate was an eye opener on how to do this and the taste of the chocolate was amazing. I would highly recommend this activity when visiting York.

The kids really enjoyed it, and I liked how the teacher interacted with everyone. I learnt a lot and have really enjoyed the chocolate we made although I've not managed to eat it all yet…

Began with an informative talk on the chocolate making process, including an opportunity to taste plain and milk chocolate before making own bar to take home. Group size quite small so not waiting around for a long time. Had a choice of chocolate type, toppings and moulds. Found using a hair drier was a surprisingly quick and efficient method to melt the chocolate. Could collect finished chocolate bar after a 30 min wait. Very well organised and an enjoyable experience,

Went on this experience with my wife and two children (6 and 3) and we all had a great time. We enjoyed the introduction explaining the chocolate making process as well as the tasting samples, my 6 year old thinks he's an expert now! Then there was a great variety of flavourings and ingredients to add to our own chocolate once we got stuck. All four bars made were delicious and didn't last long once we got them back!

Staff shared good knowledge about the process and taught us how the cocoa bean ends up on the shelf as chocolate. Good experience to to with friends/family/partner, and we made our own chocolate bars and got to personalise them!

I learned a few tricks of working with chocolate and through the bars we made. You had plenty of flavours and ingredients to add to your milk or dark chocolate to make the bar. There were about 18 people in the full class, yet it moved quickly. It was fun listening to our guide talk and explain things. It took about 25 minutes after the class for the bars to harden or you could come back before the end of day to pick yours up.

you melt down some plain chocolate[about 160 gms] they then add your flavouring[which when solid i couldnt taste]stir it and pour into a mould and put in the fridge to solidify.cost £25 could do that at home much much cheaper.was disappointed

Really well organised - the host is passionate about chocolate and therefore very knowledgeable and interesting to listen to. The activity itself was fun to do - there was a group of 6 of us taking part from ages 14 to 60 and all really enjoyed it. Would recommend.

I learned so much about chocolate in a small group setting. The teacher was friendly, knowledgeable and let us experiment with our chocolate as much as we wished! I would recommend this for families with children that are older, maybe preteen and above.

You don’t just learn about chocolate—you get to experience making it firsthand. With only four of us in the group, the experience felt personal and hands-on. We got to choose the type of chocolate and toppings to create our own custom bar to take home. The guide was friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we had an amazing time. The entire experience lasted just over 30 minutes, with an additional 30 minutes for the chocolate to set.
