We had an outstanding full day tour of the highlights of Ulaanbaatar with our driver / guide Byambaa on our first day in Mongolia.
He timely picked us up at our hotel and took us to all of the main attractions in the city as well as a few additional sites that we wanted to see. He was great at explaining the history and culture and answering our questions. He was happy to spend as much time as we wanted at any location and to customize the itinerary to our wishes. He was personable and friendly and fun to spend the day with. We highly recommend this tour for a terrific day in Ulaanbaatar!

Although my flight arrived late and we had to skip the Chinggis Khaan Museum and Narantuul Market, the tour was still a fantastic cultural experience. Highlights included the serene Gandantegchinlen Monastery, the historic Bogd Khaan Palace, and panoramic views from Zaisan Hill. The Tumen Ekh Ensemble show was a beautiful glimpse into traditional Mongolian arts. Our guide was incredibly accommodating—he even took me souvenir shopping in the city, outside the planned itinerary. A thoughtful, flexible tour that made the most of limited time. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Ulaanbaatar!

I chose the delayed payment option with Viator when I signed up, and in the meantime, the company raised the listed price by $30. I found this very frustrating; I should have paid immediately.
My guide arrived late due to UB traffic. There had been little communication beforehand although I had messaged on WhatsApp to coordinate. When he arrived he did not identify himself, but I think his name was Byambasuren.
The only thing I knew I wanted to see was Gandantegchinlen Monastery, which was our first stop, and for the rest, I asked him to choose.
When we started out, I found him very hard to understand. It improved a bit over time; it was clear he had a firm grasp of English vocabulary, but his accent was quite strong.
We went to a fancy, overpriced restaurant for lunch, which was not included in the tour.
He dropped me off at the Chinggis Khaan Museum to explore alone, and 99% of it had no English available, so I learned very little. There were some QR codes that didn't follow the exact exhibits, but also that burns a lot of battery power in a phone which is needed for photo taking.
We also went to the Winter Palace, Zaisan Memorial up on the hill, and ended with a "Legend of Nomads" performance at the Railway Palace which was incredible. Truly, I'd go back to see it every day if I could.
The entire day's itinerary was great and he did a good job choosing the spots.

We had such a lovely time with Bryan. Bryan had a good command of English and was very knowledgeable about the historical sites that we visited that day - including the summer Palace and the monasteries and temples. Byambaa is very reliable, very informative, very knowledgeable English speaking person.
I have given a few times in the past a 5 star rating and this was worth it 5++.
We started st 9 am and returned at 7:39 pm - so a really full day excursion.

I had about half a day in UB before my flight, so I chose to do the tour. Despite my weird schedule, Byambasuren was very accommodating. The itinerary covered all the main sites and he gave detailed info about Mongolian history, especially at the museums. Highly recommended.

We had only one day in Ulaanbaatar and Byambaa made sure we got the most out of it.
He is a polite and safe driver with a broad knowledge of the Mongolian culture in general and Buddhism in particular. The tour itinerary ranged from the new and modern multimedia museum of Mongolian History to various Buddhist temples, and an incredible modern-classic fusion music and dance experience in the theatre. It felt like three days. We will be back..

Mr. Bayambasuren was very responsive to my requests and altered our destinations according to my requests. He is very knowledgeable of the city and the history. It was nice to have a private vehicle versus a larger group on a bus or in a van. Nice way to experience UB.

Byamba was the best tour guide starting by picking us up in time then asking us if there was anything that we wanted to see. It was this flexibility and individual approach that made the day so great. Byamba is extremely knowledbale about all aspects of Mongolian culture and was happy to share his insights with us. We started with the incredible Buddhist temples at Gandan Khild monastery then onto the National Museum followed by lunch at a traditional Mongolian restaurant which was delicious. Then we visited the Winter Palace which was so interesting then up to the Zaison memorial to watch the sun setting over UB. We learnt so much from Byamba who patiently answered all of our questions about UB and the Mongolian way of life.
Byamba was also able to organise airport transfers for us at a reasonable price and another separate tour out to the Manzushir Monastery on Bogh Khan mountain. Again Byamba was able to give us so much information about the history and it was especially special as it snowed so everything looked so beautiful - another great day trip with Byamba.

Byamba made our trip really smooth and easy. Even if we were extremely delayed he still acknowledged our reservation without hesitation. He even arranged a surprise birthday dinner for my wife! With matching cake and a birthday song played by the band at the restaurant. We’re out of words and wish we could provide more for his service. My guide Byamba was knowledgeable and friendly and took me around all the main sights of UB; I had a great day. He was on time, communicative and his vehicle (along with his driving) was perfect. His (incredibly self taught) English was sometimes a little hard for me to understand, amd made free-flowing conversation a little tricky, but he conveyed the main things clearly enough for me to take away the key points.

My tour guide Byambaa was very knowledgeable about all the places he took me to see. One thing that I will remember was the weather. It started to snow. To me that made the whole tour perfect. I enjoy learning about other people culture and religion. I have always been interested in Buddhism. Byambaa was very good at explaining the temples, the murals, the statues, paintings, and information on the roles of the monks. We also went to the Winter palace, and had a traditional Mongolian meal, along with other things. I was so happy with Byambaa, that I hired him to take me on an other wonderful tour to Hustal National Park. On this tour I met a nomadic family, rode a camel, had a wonderful meal at the park, and was able to see many animals along with the wild horses of Mongolia. I had planned a different tour with Byambaa, but he went to check the area out and found that it was to wet and problematic for me because of some of my health problems. He was straight up front and more worried about my health then making the money. If you are looking for a wonderful tour guide, than look know further, Byambaa has tours that are reasonable in price and if needed will customize a tour for your group or just you.

All in all, very happy with the experience and thankful to our driver.
We hired the driver to also pick us up from the airport and he waited for us even though our flight was delayed 8 hours. Upon arriving at Ulaanbaatar, we immediately started our tour to make the best of our remaining time and indeed our driver and tour guide made arrangements to at least take us to the most important places. Obviously, we did miss a few of the planned activities, but we were mostly surprised that we did get to see what we did, considering the little time we had left.
He was accommodating to all our requests and I should also note very affordable.
If I had to make one negative remark, it would be that his English could have been a bit better, but that is minor, put in perspective.

Brian was right on time based on our scheduled time for our tour.
I thought it would be awkward to talk to him during the car ride, but he was actually very kind, and had been nothing but helpful and informative to us.
He was also very willing and open to answer any of our questions.
When we went to our first stop, I thought we would just go inside temples and take photos, then come back to the car, but Brian made sure that he shared a little about each place we went to, and that we learned something about Mongolia’s religious groups, artifacts, history, culture and more, which was really neat.
When we were hungry, he brought us to a Mongolian Restaurant, “Nomads”, this was the first time we ate authentic Mongolian food. Even when we ate, we learned about all sorts of meats that Mongolians eat, and how they cook them.
And at the end of the day, Brian brought us back to our hotel.

I had no plans whatsoever for what I wanted to do in Ulaanbaatar so Byambasuren put together a full day's intinerary for me that covered everything I'd want to see, including multiple options for tourist destinations and lunch. His English was good and his knowledge of the country was excellent so I learned a lot, and he is also just generally friendly and interesting. In addition to the tour, he provided very reasonably priced transfers to and from the airport. Overall I'd highly recommend booking with Byambasuren and definitely plan to contact him again when I'm back in Mongolia.
