The Food tour of Tangier

Hamad was really great. He gave us perfect instructions on how to get off the ship and avoid the hustlers and Met our taxi immediately. He explained the culture and a bit of the history of Morocco as he arranged for us to have a lovely light breakfast. We took a long stroll through the bazaars downtown Tanger, where we tried a couple of delicacies from one of the l stalls. Afterwards, we went through several of the large shops where I did their best to sell us a rug to ship home – unsuccessfully (because we have just bought a rug in Turkey recently). Another quick stop in the apothecary with an explanation of some of the herbal treatments, which we did by a few of, then ultimately a very nice traditional Moroccan lunch. Due to age and health, we moved rather slowly and Hamad accommodated us beautifully and protectively as we moved through the rather crowded and cramped streets. He was gracious the entire time, stopping several times to take photos for us show us a clean restroom, etc. Could not recommend him more highly! This is a reasonably demanding tour as it is about 5 miles going up and down hills on uneven pavement so that should be taken into account. We managed though and are very happy that we did!
