This tour was the perfect introduction to Tangier.
A friend and I booked the tour a few weeks in advance, and the owner/operator, Karim, texted me almost immediately to confirm everything. Communication before the tour was excellent. We were asked if we'd be open to sharing our private tour with two other travelers, making us a group of four. We were happy to say yes, and it ended up making the experience even more fun.
Our guide, Jasmine, was absolutely wonderful. She was warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely kind. Rather than feeling like we were being led through a checklist of sights, it felt like we were exploring the city with a friend who knew every hidden street, every story, and all the right people. Not to mention as a follow woman, seeing the city from that perspective was just incredible.
We wandered through the Medina to the Kasbah, strolled down quiet streets lined with beautiful architecture, met some memorable locals, browsed bustling markets (the olive displays alone are worth seeing!), admired the exteriors of several stunning mosques, and visited a historic synagogue. Learning that it's lovingly maintained despite Tangier's Jewish community now numbering fewer than 20 people was a moving example of Morocco's respect for people of all faiths.
Jasmine was also incredibly generous throughout the tour. I won't spoil the surprises for future guests, but everything she shared with us was delicious and thoughtfully chosen.
By the end of the experience, I felt like I had gained much more than an overview of the city. I came away with a genuine appreciation for Tangier, its history, and the warmth of its people. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Tangier, especially if it's your first time.

This tour agency is family run by Karim and his family. Prior to the tour, Karim communicated all the details the day before, so we were clear and there was no guessing. Majid, our tour guide, was promptly at our guest house at 10 min before the tour start time. He was extremely knowledgeable and took us through the old town while sharing nuggets from the history of Tangiers. His english was impeccable. When we were overcharged by a vendor while on our tour, Karim took it personally and stepped in to provide us with a cash refund out of pocket, and insisted he would take the merchandise back to the vendor himself. Ive never encountered this level of customer centricity in any tour anywhere. I will hopefullu return to Tangiers soon, and when I do, I hope to deal only with Karim.

Karim and the driver, Abdul go above and beyond any tour experience we've had. Drove to multiple locations to get the 'complete' Morocco experience! Everyone knew Karim ( even the local cats 😃) his knowledge of cultural sites and familiarity with area shops exemplified his love for his home city. He assisted us in several purchases (rugs and spices) on asking where we might find similar style and quality clothes that he was wearing....He LITERALLY gave us 'the shirt off his back'! The tour went far beyond the allotted time and experience. The food / restaurant recommendations were superb. We've traveled extensively, but this tour experience topped all.

Our guide, Majid, was wonderful. His Knowledge of Morocco was shared in such an interesting way.
He guided us to Authentic Moroccan Shops so we were not wasting our money on cheap souvenirs, which was greatly appreciated. As the Tour is Named, it certainly is a Walking Tour. The streets and alleyways were cobblestone and lots of uphill walking to get to the Kasbah. The market itself was crowded but never had any problems. Enjoyed our morning with Majid.

The tour guide, Jasmine, is very well-informed, speaks amazingly good English (knows a lot of expressions), is patient and responsive to your needs. In my case, I needed help going down stairs, she was very nice about it. We talked about personal matters, that was my choice, and interesting for me to hear about her life. For shopping, I was interested in women's clothing and Moroccan healthy beauty products. Her two shops worked out very well. I am very happy with my purchases.
She is a top guide, this is from someone who is a tour guide in NYC!

It was just the 2 of us and the guide which made it so easy to get around the narrow streets. If you were with 20 people it would be a mess. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable of the history of Tangier and Morocco, very informative and easy to talk and ask questions with. We enjoyed him very much and recommend him. This is a wonderful tour for anyone’s first day in Tangier. My tour guide was very knowledgeable on the history of the city and engaging with all my inquiries of particular Moroccan customs and daily life. The tour can be flexible toward the things that interest you personally. For me, that was the food markets, along with a stops for tea, a bite to eat and a little bit of shopping with trusted vendors. I feel like I am very well situated now for the remainder of my stay, with some helpful tips they left me with regarding points of interest and restaurants I may enjoy for the remainder of my stay. Like I said, the PERFECT choice for anyone’s first day in Tangier!

A worthwhile introduction to Tangier while visiting on a cruise. Our guide was Jasmine, who was very pleasant and knowledgeable, although she did spend too much time talking on her phone! We really enjoyed the narrow streets and alleyways as we made our way through the old town. We visited a spice shop where we felt pressured to purchase. We did buy a couple of items, and the agreed price was in Euros then converted to dirhams ( 10 to the €) . I payed by card and when I checked my card statement a few days later I discovered I had been charged much more than the agreed price. We then visited a ceramic shop and the owner tried to give us a less favourable conversion rate, but he backtracked when caught out. Finally we visited a fabric shop and again we later found out we were charged more than the agreed price! There didn’t appear to be locals frequenting these shops, just tourists.
The Moroccan Dirham is a closed currency and cannot be taken in or out of the country. Our guide took us to an ATM to get some local currency before entering the souk, as buying is cash only. The souk was the sort of bustling atmosphere we expected. Plenty of bargains after some bartering. Again priced in Euros and converted to dirhams for cash payments. It was a real experience to see the butcher stalls and some unconventional butchery techniques ( not for the faint hearted). When our guide left us, she gave us directions to a local restaurant and onward to the ship. We sat outdoors at the restaurant and enjoyed the street entertainers performing. Lunch was tasty and great value.
There are many street sellers, which can be a bit of a nuisance, however I politely declined their offers, and was pleasantly impressed by their courteous and humble acceptance of rejection.
Overall, this was a worthwhile and enjoyable tour, and can be tailored to suit your interests. We found the ordinary people of Tangier to be warm and friendly.
In hindsight, I would avoid the tourist shops, as the price altering has left a bitter taste. If paying by credit card double check the price being charged.

Karim and crew were so wonderful!! From the time of booking, they were proactive and engaged; when we had questions about tour contents, they were extremely knowledgeable and could offer options that would build our perfect Tangier experience. There was never any upsell, just a desire on their part to assure that we experienced the Tangier that they love in a way that made us want to return (ASAP!) - we would say “mission accomplished, Karim, Jasmine and Abdul!”
You will definitely see us back with more family in tow and expect to see some of our travel friends as well! Highly recommend not only Patito Tours, but Karim and team as hosts for their enthusiasm, professionalism, and most of all, their pride in their city and land. That pride and love shines in how you presented everything that day and we very much appreciated that! Thank you again!!

Our tour guide was fabulous. Majod taught us a great deal about the culture and history of Tangier and Morocco. He made everything interesting and treated us to tea during a break. He was very flexible during the shopping phase when anyone wanted to go into a specific shop. He recommended some shops as well. He gave us more than the allotted time and treated us like valued friends. After the tour, we asked for a lunch recommendation. He took us personally to a lovely little restaurant and even helped us order. This one one of the true highlights of our two week cruise and we’re so glad we booked it.

Majid led a group of six of us throughout the old town area of Tangier. He was incredibly knowledgeable, and pleasant. He gave us an overview of the history of the area, cultural insights, and shopping opportunities. He invited questions and understood the larger context of those questions. He was the perfect guide for us! We left with a pomegranate, and were treated to a traditional mint tea in a sidewalk cafe. Plus he directed us to a wonderful restaurant for lunch after our tour. We highly recommend this tour.

Majid our guide was waiting for us at the cruise terminal, so very easy. It was just myself, my husband and the guide - real personal service. Majid was superb - his knowledge was encyclopaedic and took us on an extensive walking tour. He is most charming and his English superb - infact Majid speaks 8 languages! We loved Tangiers and this was totally due to Majid. Would highly recommend a walking tour and extremely well priced. Avoid booking a tour through the cruise and book Majid. We heard from other cruise passengers their excursions were a waste of time and money so thoroughly recommend booking this trip.

This is the only way to visit the old town! A tourist could easily get lost in the winding mazes of narrow alleyways! Having a private guide explain life here was very interesting. My guide, Hazma was extremely patient as I constantly stopped to take photos. I got to see exactly the things I wanted to see, and skip the places that I was less interested in. Book this tour and make the most of your visit!

This was perfect low key wander through Tangier kasbah and medina. Our guide, Majid, met us just outside the cruise post and we toured with one other couple. He started by giving us a quick history of Tangier and Morocco and then we walked up to the Kasbah neighborhood. Majid was a fountain of information and adjusted the tour as he saw what we enjoyed. Stopped for the BEST mont tea and a chat break. Particularly enjoyed the garden street and all of the beautiful side streets and small shops. We went into a very nice shop where they talked to us about the carpets but it was not high pressure at all. We had asked to see some spice shops and he took us to a very nice one.
