Itinerary
Greet your knowledgeable guide at a central Tallinn location after disembarking your cruise ship, and climb aboard your luxurious, air-conditioned coach to commence your tour of the capital. Cruise past the verdant beauty of Kadriorg Park, home to the imperially majestic Kadriorg Palace, and venture within the regal residence for a short tour alongside your guide, optional and at an extra cost.
Then, venture to the coastal district of Pirita to admire its gorgeous beaches and the crumbling ruins of the Pirita Convent. See the Song Festivals Grounds and hear of how globally renowned artists have performed there, then disembark your coach.
Stretch your legs during an informative walking tour of Tallinn’s charming Old Town and discover the quaint landmarks that pepper the UNESCO World Heritage-listed enclave. Begin on the clifftop perch of the Upper Old Town and descend past quaint red-gabled roofs and splintering spires to Toompea Castle, a flagrant fortress that houses Estonia’s Parliament and the Tall Hermann Tower.
Next, venture within the sacred interior of the Aleksander Nevsky Cathedral, a great example of ecclesiastical elegance that boasts the title of Estonia’s largest. After gazing at the interminable ceilings and prismatic stained glass windows, meander through the narrow cobbled streets of Lower Old Town to see one of Northern Europe’s only Gothic town halls.
Bid your guide and group farewell in the Lower Old Town and make your own way back to your cruise port in time for your ship’s departure.
Worry-free Shore Excursion: We ensure your excursion ends with ample time for you to return to the Tallinn Port for your ship's departure. In the extremely unlikely event your ship has departed, we will arrange for transport to the next port-of-call. If your ship is delayed and you are unable to attend this activity, your money will be refunded. See our terms and conditions for full details.

She was rude, not friendly at all, very difficult to understand her English and did not make ANY effort to make the tour nicer. We are very disappointed. Beautiful city, terrible guide.

I cannot give this tour anything higher than an average scoring. Our guide tended to repeat herself over and again on the same information. Our bus driver refused to put any air on even though Tallinn was experiencing record setting temperatures. Seeing seven countries on this trip, this was the least insightful tour.

We had a great time with our guide Eve - she was very knowledgeable, gave us a great insight in Tallinn and Estonia's rich history and made the tour come alive with hilarious anecdotes and her very personal take on her city and country. The first half of the tour is a coach tour where you get to see some of the more remote sights, the second half is a walking tour through the beautiful historical old town of Tallinn, - a great combination in my opinion. Eve also recommended some good restaurants for local food. She made our first visit to Estonia very special and we'll definitely be back soon!

The people on the tour was not together... Felt it was a rush. Could not hear the tour guide...no audio equipment.

I cant give this tour even 1 star. Although we loved the city the tour guide lady was ever rude. Poor quality bus, everyone asked for air which she would not turn on. Just a very bad experience. 3 couples left the tour early to tour by themselves. All our our tours where great. This lady needs to be replaced.

Our Talinn tour was interesting and our guide, Epp, knowledgeable however I gave this tour only 2 stars for the following reasons.
The tour did not match the itinerary. We did not get the option to go to the Kadriog Palace or the opportunity to visit St Mary's Cathedral. Cathedral.
It was difficult to hear the guide over other tour groups and construction noises.
A few other members of our tour group disappeared for 45 minutes during a 10 minute bathroom break. They came back with food and shopping bags while the rest of us waited. I know that the guide could not leave them, but she should have gone afterr them when they did not reappear.

Our guide was excellent and we learned a lot on our first trip to Tallinn. We were the only ones on the tour, so we got to ask a lot of questions. It poured for awhile, but our guide got us under shelter. One thing......she told us to catch a cab back at a hotel. Maybe the hotel gets a cut. Anyway, when it started to hail, we grabbed the nearest cab!

Wonderful intro to Tallinn and well worth it! Our guide, Anna, was very knowledgeable and obviously loved Tallinn passionately! We had limited time, but felt like we encompassed so much! Amazing City!

It would be nicer if this tour include the lunch and return ride to the cruise with some extra fee.

Tallin is a beautiful city with some interesting highlights including the song festival park and some unique churches that hold family crests. We enjoyed seeing all the sights but wished our tour guide would have had more eye contact with the group and been able to tell us about the sights rather than reading off the plaques on the walls.

The shore excursion to Tallinn was perfect. We were able to see the Singing Grounds and the beaches. The city tour was interesting and we had time for lunch in the square before going back to the ship,

Could not find a better tour than this. The guide and driver were excellent.
GAIL_D, Aug 2017
Excellent tour, would have liked more time at Kadroig Palace and grounds.

Great tour that gave us a good overview of the city with plenty of time at each of the key stops. The tour guide was very friendly and informative as well.

This was an acceptable but not exceptional tour. Perhaps part of the problem was a lack of sights as memorable as in some other cities, but it just didn't click with us. First, the tour bus was about a quarter- to a half-mile from the ship. Finally, the tour ended at the top of the hill on which Tallinn is located. The good thing was that it gave us lots of time to shop in the local markets. The bad thing was that we were pretty much on our own to find the shuttle buses that would return us to the ship.

Great guide, friendly and helpful for future plans. Very knowledgeable

This trip was absolutely terrible. We could only understand about 1 out of every four words that our guide spoke. The bus tour deviated from the schedule and we pretty much drove out to the amphitheater and that was pretty much the extent of it. I learned very little about the country of Tallin from this tour except that Limestone was quarried here. The walking tour was even worse if that is possible. Again we couldn't understand her because of a combination of language barrier as well as her low tone. She talked to us about historic buildings in the middle of the road as cars attempted to navigate around us. Our family and another family left the walking tour after about 15 minutes and used the Rick Steve's guide to actually learn about Tallin. That was the highlight of our tour, our on our own tour. This tour was not worth it. Save your time and money and buy the Rick Steve's guide to really learn about this country then you ever would on this tour.

This was the worst tour guide I have ever had! Her ID was very outdated, i would say by at least 20 years. It did not even look like her. About 3 minutes in tothe bus part of the tour the microphone stopped working, so she moved back a couple of seats and started to talk again, but she spoke like she was talking to the person sitting next to her. No one on the bus heard her speech, She had a very heavy accent which did not help. When we reached the first stop for the walking part. she said where the meeting place was. The young couple with the two small children were sitting in the very back of the bus and when he got off the bus, asked her where the meeting place was because he could not hear her in the bus She spoke very rudely to him saying you weren't listening, were you? My adult daughter heard them say they to each other they were getting a taxi back to the ship. By the time the tour reached the town square there were only 6 of us left! She was very short/ rude with people and not at all friendly. We did not tip nor did any one who left the tour prior to us reaching the square. This person should not be a representative of the town of Tallinn!!

Our guide was great. The walking portion of the tour in the old walled city was wonderful, but, the cobblestones were difficult for the walker with 8 wheels that had not difficulty maneuvering on other terrain. We would have liked the tour to end with transport back to the ship. Ending at the old city is OK for people who are able to walk without difficulty.
Wendy_P, Sep 2016
We enjoyed this tour very much, it was very picturesque and a beautiful place. It was not too strenuous and the people very friendly. I would recommend this tour.
CliveDouglas_P, Sep 2016
Probably the best of the tours available in Tallinn, sure the Hop-on / off bus is good also, but it doesn't have the added benefit of a very good informative guide to bring you up to speed on this lovely country's history.
If traveling via cruise ship, then I recommend this tour over those offered by the ship due to lower price we went to the same attractions as those on the cruise ship tours the only drawback was that the tour sort of leaves you stranded in Tallinn old town the walk back to the ship can be a tad confusing if you take a wrong turn but gives you plenty of time to shop, eat, drink and generally enjoy the sights
Charles M, Sep 2016
Had a wonderful guide, Eric, lead us first on a bus tour of greater Talinn, then a walking tour of the old cities. He was very knowledgeable and spoke beautiful English. Would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to get to know Talinn.
John G, Aug 2016
It was good that as we got off the ship and walked out we saw a Viator sign. I suggest the confirmation materials include a statement to watch for someone carrying a sign of Viator or the providing tour company name. Our tour had a mixed Asian and Caucasian group. That is OK but made it more difficult for the guide. So the tour guide gave a text book description of things and was hard to hear.

Dear All
We have been a group of 6 persons for the English tour.
We left the tour in the middle due to the bad English of the guide.
First time it happens to me !
Sorry but you should select the guides and check their english before.
regards
Jan

The tour guide was nowhere to be found at the Pier. The instructions to where to meet where very poor as there was construction happening at the pier. We spent half an hour walking up and down to find our guide. I called the office in Tallinn and they were very unhelpful.
Once the tour started it went well, the guide was very informative. We would of appreciated more free time in the old town looking around.
janet w, Jul 2016
not much of a coach tour walking tour very good though guide could not be found at first she was good
PeterD_M, Jul 2016
Unfortunately, I was not aware when I booked this excursion how much walking was involved. My husband travels with a walker and at the first bus stop we took a cab back to the ship. There is no way he would have been able to walk for one and a half hour. I wish that would be made clearer on the description of the tour. I think that Viator needs to come up with a rating indicating the physical activity level of the tour. It was disappointing that we did not get to see much of Tallin.
Michael D, Jul 2016
A bit of confusion when meeting the tour guide but otherwise all went well. The tour ended in the old city and it was a bit confusing making our way back to the ship - hardly any taxis around but fortunately we managed to get it a main road and took a bicycle ride.
OwenJames_S, Jul 2016
Really good experience. Smaller group than than our ships tours and great guide. Highly recommend.
JanetB_F, Jul 2016
Great tour. The bus took us around the newer city, then dropped us off up the hill in the old town. There our guide walked us around and took us into the beautiful old cathedrals telling us about the history of each one. From there we were free to walk around the old town and make our way back to the cruise ship.
