Lackadaisical tour

The staff is lackadaisical. Not at all enthusiastic about their jobs. One driver parked the bus and got out and sat on a bench. When we asked him what was going on he said another bus would be by in about an hour.

Communication is poor with this company. The bus wait was over 20 minutes when they said 3. The bus couldn’t make it up the hill & fumes were making us all sick. It rolled down the hill to get to the port to make us get off and wait for another bus. The tour was very short & not informative. It was a waist of time and money. The bus is hop on & off hourly which they neglect to tell you too. Pick up ended early & we had to cab it back. Good luck with your trip!

Don’t do it, use other hop on hop off company

There is another hop on hop off company, use them. The bus was shaky to begin with and then actually broke down. Then the sign with the stop times says the times but when the cruise ship is in port times are different, the pamphlet we were given had no time changes. So we missed what we thought was the last bus and we needed to get a taxi. While on the taxi the next bus passed us.

Great way to get familiar with the city

There are two lines for this Hop on Hop off and they cover a large area of Tallinn. I rode the entire first route, then asked the driver when the next route would be along and the bus had changed to the second route so I stayed on and rode it all around. Great way to get familiar with the city.

When you travel internationally, things can happen. Things happened with us and we weren't able to make the last bus on the day we were booked. I tried contacting the tour operator but THEY NEVER RESPONDED AND STILL HAVEN'T. All we hoped to do was move our booking to the next day. We had to communicate with them through Viator. Viator told us that the Hop on Hop Off company would not let us move our booking to the next day (despite my past experience being that these busses never fill up). So I asked to be refunded instead, but they wouldn't do that, either. So that's €250 down the drain. All they did was essentially say that it was not "their policy" to accommodate us. My recommendation to anyone considering this for operator is to not buy tickets until you are there. Don't let them screw you the way they did us.

Booked this tour because it said it was wheelchair accessible. However, there was no ramp. I had to lift the motorized scooter into the bus with the help of the driver. Otherwise, it was a good experience.

Easy overview

I travel alone, so the hop on hop off bus is an easy way to get an overview of everything. There isn’t much in around the town, but up in the old city, there was a lot to see. The bus only runs a limited amount of time. We were trying to catch the next to the last return to the ship, but the bus was running late. A few taxis were out there but wanted to rip us off and charge €20 just to get to the ship. The bus came a few minutes later. It’s clean, the recording message is clear, and it’s worth the relatively low cost.

I do not think it was worth it. The gap between the tours were an hour so you had to wait for a long time and it felt like a waste. I have taken an uber to places and it costed me less.

Buses were older and only ran every hour or later. If you got off you felt stranded. Employees seemed less than excited to be working. Stops were unmarked and difficult to find.

Tired buses, not many departures and probably not worth the money

Compared to other city sightseeing (I have done a lot!) the buses are very old, throw out emissions and some of the headphone sockets do not work. The routes and number of buses are also not as regular as other cities. This makes it less value for money than other cities. I only managed to do one loop without getting off and to be honest it wasn’t of the same standard as other cities sadly.

Save your money worst HOHO iv ever experienced

There was no option to give 0/5 stars will this wasn't even worth 1 star.. don't waste money on this HOHO bus tour iv been around the world 43 countries and have done many HOHO tours this one is a joke. 2 lines green that have 2 times a day 😂 🤣 😂 and red with 4 times each day 😆😂😂 the buses are also very old the city's small and you'd cover the bus route on foot in a day.. hope your not planning on hopping off you'll wait more that 2+++ hours for the next bus to come 🫴 waste of time and money avoid at all costs

Tallin is a lovely city but the bus route only takes you on a tour of the outskirts and tells you about it's history and buildings that no longer exist - it is a very modern city. The medieval town is not covered in the bus route, so you might as well walk there from where the cruise bus drops you off.

Great service and best way to see ALL of this city. Tallinn is a beautiful city and whilst the old town area is walkable, most of the paving is cobblestone so may prove difficult for some. For cruise passengers, it does pick up earlier than the normal timetable but most places don’t open until 10am. Make a good note of where you get off as not all stops are signed.

Bus was no where near where the voucher said it would be. We only stumbled upon it a quarter mile away after we gave up and started walking. Ended up walking back to the cruise terminal because the remaining stops are incredibly inconvenient. Walk. It’s a short distance to old town.

Very easy to navigate and get on and off to sightsee. Commentary is provided so we thought it was worth it instead of paying and arm and leg to do a shore excursion with the cruise. Old town is a must see, everything else not so much.

The location of City sightseeing...

The location of City sightseeing HOHO buses are great and the staff was courteous. We took the first bus from terminal after ship's arrival and straight went to the Upper Old Town. After absorbing the sights of the town from upper old town, we simply walked down to lower town. All the attractions in Tallinn are very near to each other and can be simply done by walking. Basically, we used HOHO bus only once to reach the Upper Old Town. One can walk back to the cruise port from the city.

The people working for the company were very friendly and helpful. Rode on all three routes, you need to check schedule to see when each route starts running. The seaplane museum had road construction on the way there so never got close. Get picked up just outside cruise ship terminal.

Noisy, rickety bus

Engine noise on first floor; canopy flapping against frame noise on second floor. Tour did not take us near interesting places to get off -- we spent many minutes traveling through a forest, which looked much like other forests. Driver was unhelpful in directing us to a better option.
