Charlie was an excellent tour guide - he planned a great itinerary to include everything we wanted to see, was flexible with timing, and was prepared with water and umbrellas. He was also happy to pick us up at one hotel and drop off at another, which saved a lot of time for us. I would definitely recommend Charlie to anyone visiting the Taipei area on need of a tour guide.

A Fantastic Experience with Taiwan's Countryside and Cuisine

I had an absolutely fantastic time in my recent day tour, which allowed me to try some of Taiwan's best foods and see some of the island's most beautiful sites. I really loved the views of the mountains and oceans, as well as the naturally forming "mushroom rocks," which were fascinating to learn about! I also loved trying different Taiwanese foods in various locations, especially the specialty sweets. However, what really made the tour great was the service of Danny. Danny was a wonderful driver and guide, and he has significant knowledge of the area given his twelve years of experience. He speaks excellent English and he provides the chance to participate in many exciting activities, and I especially liked painting and releasing a flying "happy lantern." Overall, the tour provides a perfect balance of guidance and free time, and I had the chance to get some really nice gifts for loved ones back home. I really appreciate Danny providing such an amazing experience during my first time in Taiwan, I would happily use this company's services again!

Really bad experience. We had Danny as our “tour guide” which is a gross exaggeration as his English is very poor, he didn’t volunteer any information about anything and only spoke when spoken to. He didn’t know the answers to most of our questions about Taiwan and the places we passed and visited, or if he knew, he couldn’t verbalize them. He was basically just our driver and an unsafe one at that - he was searching for pictures on his phone while driving, and drove on the shoulder for a long time to pass cars in a merging lane. The car smelled of smoke covered up with air freshener. Very disappointing.

Thank you for your evaluation of Danny’s service. In fact, Danny’s attitude towards serving customers in the past has been very good. You said that his English is poor. I don’t believe it because he has lived in the United States for several years and has good communication skills in English. It's really good. There is a smell of smoke in the car. We will step up and ask for improvement.

the driver charged me extra 1,500. He said because he came from Taipei 101, too far he said. But i put my pick up point clearly when I booked the tour. I think you should refund me.

Fantastic day trip in Taipei

We had a fantastic day in Taipei with our driver, James. We were only in Taipei for one day on a long layover, I wasn’t really sure what to expect. James brought us to some great spots for scenery and market action. I really loved Taipei more than I thought I would! Thanks to our driver James for all the great stops. Highly recommend for a day trip in Taipei!

Buyer Beware - Asked for more money right away in the car

We were very excited about this tour but it wasn't that great. After we got into the car Danny said: "Charlie asked me to ask you for another $50 USD to cover gas from the airport. STRANGE since I booked this a couple months earlier and Charlie never said this to me. Other folks get picked up from the airport so that wasn't unusual. In addition, our plane was almost 2-hours late so we already got cut out of additional stops, which saved Danny gas. When asked what the top 5 spots are, Danny said he'd have to think about it. We already read about them but wanted local feedback, so that was disappointing he wasn't ready with some good advice and some excitement about anything. We ended up seeing a museum, temple, and got some lunch at Danny's favorite place, which was OK but didn't seem like it was anything special - but maybe that's just how the food is there. Anyway, Danny was nice, but I felt shaken down. Unfortunately my bride fell for it and paid him more without me being aware. I feel they owe us an apology and a refund for the full extra $50 and a little more for the shortened time and upset. We'll see if they do and I will revise this review if so. Hello, I am very sorry to see this review you wrote, because it was a misunderstanding, first of all I would like to explain to you that it is stated in my product content: Other transfer details 1. At the airport or port terminal, I will hold up a sign to let tourists find me, and the mobile phone will remain unblocked for easy contact. 2. The pick-up and drop-off location of this product is limited to the Taipei area. If the departure point is in other cities, such as Taoyuan International Airport, an additional fee must be charged. It takes 50 minutes to drive, so you need to pay US$50 or NT$1500 for round-trip pick-up and drop-off Please pay directly to the driver. So please read the content carefully and cause your misunderstanding. I am deeply sorry. Maybe I should explain it to you in advance before departure. We went on a private tour with George as our driver and he was a fantastic host! He picked us up at our hotel in Taipei and took us on drive to Yehliu Geopark, Jioufen old town, Shifen old street where we did the lantern lighting, and Shifen waterfall. George was extremely polite and knowledgeable and taught us some of the history along the way. Would highly recommend for anyone looking to do a day trip from Taipei.
