Upon arrival in Haugesund, meet your guide just steps from the dock, jump on board your vehicle, and settle in for a drive of around 1.5 hours to the dramatic Langfoss waterfall. The tour took us through some beautiful scenic areas and ultimately to the Langfoss waterfall which was spectacular! Our guide, Lilly, and bus driver Gary, were excellent. Lilly gave us lots of information about this area of Norway and had lots of facts for us. I would highly recommend this tour!

Steep stairs if one wants to go up the mountain where the water falls, though you can see where they end and hear the force of the water againdt the stones, walking along the Fjords was lovely.
Unfortunately we expected much better from our guide Marina. She didn’t know any history at all but instead she was telling us things as if we were going to settle in Norway example their way of life, their taxes, national insurance etc which to us tourists was irrelevant.
Nothing said about Vikings the nice granite like stones found nearby etc.

Really beautiful but don’t try to hike the waterfall. You don’t have enough time so just enjoy the waterfall. The stop is only about 30 mins and to hike to the top takes about 1.5

Tour guide was fun entertaining and knowledgeable. He was very passionate about Norway and all it's wonderful scenery.
Mary_R, Jul 2026
more time spent on bus than anything else Tour guide was not very interesting She just read from a paper She did not give us any
interesting facts about places we were passing and we had to
constantly tell her to speak louder

Well organized trip. The views are amazing even during the ride to the sites. The guide provided lots of local information along the way.

Fairly good tour, guide was not the best, very monotone and happier talking to passengers sat near him rather than on Mike to everyone

Ok be nice my wife said., si gear goes. DRIVER WAS GOOD. Second excursion we didnt go out on time do it impacts how long we get to do things.
1. Late exit.
2. 2 hour drive to waterfall, very nice. Time was cut short here, even though thus is the main attraction. 20 minutes go to the bathroom, remember 2 hour drive,. Only 2 bathrooms total, there were 3 buses, and alot of other travelers.
3. Load bus, 10 minute drive to location to grab something to eat, local grocery. We got 30 minutes here..
Leave there, drive 10 minutes a n d stop for a 20 minute bathroom break.
5. So we got mire time for bathroom break and to grab groceries than we did for the main attraction.
6. Guide must have been new, didn't talk loud enough for the whole bus and was reading a script about Norway.
7. 2 hour drive back, no other stops.
Would not recommend th I s excursion.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're glad to hear you found the driver friendly and that you enjoyed the waterfall.
We would like to clarify a few points about the itinerary.
First, the drive to the waterfall is not two hours each way, as mentioned in your review. The actual travel time is approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes in each direction.
Regarding the time spent at the waterfall, our priority is always to ensure that all guests return to the cruise ship on time. For this reason, stop durations may occasionally need to be adjusted due to operational or logistical circumstances.
On the day of your tour, we started later than planned because passengers disembarked from the ship approximately 30 minutes behind the scheduled time. This delay had a knock-on effect on the rest of the itinerary. Despite this, our team managed to depart only about 15 minutes later than the original planned departure time, minimizing the impact as much as possible.
We understand that you would have liked to spend more time at the waterfall. However, balancing the schedule while ensuring a timely return to the ship is always our highest priority, and sometimes this requires adjustments to the duration of certain stops.
Thank you again for your comments. Feedback like yours helps us continue improving our tours, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again in the future.

The excursion is full of beautiful and stunning scenery. Crew are super friendly and helpful. A must itinerary for Stavanger.

Lack of response from the tour operator leading up to the tour is the reason they received a 3 stars rating. My anxiety level was through the roof and no response or lack of communication is my biggest pet peeves. Be prepared to not hear from the tour operator until the day of for any questions or concerns you may have. I only enjoyed this tour because I was with a group of friends who calmed my nerves.
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're sorry to hear that the communication before your tour caused you stress.
In your case, we received a large number of messages in a very short period, along with several requests to change buses multiple times within the same day. We genuinely did our best to accommodate every change you requested, and whenever it was logistically possible, we made the adjustments.
However, because bus assignments affect many other guests and our operational planning, it is not always possible to accommodate multiple last-minute changes, especially when preferences change several times over the course of an afternoon.
We always strive to respond as quickly as possible and to provide the best experience we can. We're pleased to hear that you ultimately enjoyed the tour with your friends, and we appreciate your understanding that some operational limitations are beyond our control.

This is about Norway’s participation in WWII. I’m an old guy reading about WWII since the fourth grade. Did not clearly understand Norway’s role. Now I do.
Matthew_N, Jul 2026
5 hours short excursion, mainly to see a small water fall, waste of time. Wonderful tour guide but could not made up for small attraction.
Better spend time to explore the city.

Thank you for your feedback.
We're pleased to hear you enjoyed our guide. We understand that not every tour matches everyone's expectations, but the itinerary is clearly described in advance, with Langfoss and the scenic fjord landscapes being the main highlights. Many of our guests value this experience, even if it may not suit every traveler's preferences

It was a beautiful drive to the Langford waterfall. Then drive to an outdoor memorial. It’s wonderful for people that cannot walk long distances.
Adrea_S, Jul 2026
We had Lily and Gary as our guide and driver. Lily was a wonderful tour guide — very knowledgeable, funny and personable. Gary safely drove us to our destination and back.

Great communication regarding meeting times and where to meet. Charming hostess who narrated throughout the bus ride to the fall. Gave interesting information about the city. Kept the group on time so we can visit more scenic sites.

Bit of a drive 1.5 hours each way. Beautiful countryside and waterfall. Bus coach very comfortable. Gabriela was a knowledgeable and friendly tour guide that narrated our excursion on the bus ride. Gale was a very good and careful bus driver, we appreciated him. We purchased a hot dog at the falls when we stopped and it was very good. The next stop at the restaurant had many choices to purchase, grab n Go sandwiches, salads, ice cream, muffins etc with an attached grocery store to buy different items. The monument to Norway's 1st King was the last stop before heading back to ship. Approximately 5 hour trip. We enjoyed the excursion.
Simon_P, Jun 2026
Lily was fantastic host, knowledgeable and fun. With added punctuality. Thoroughly enjoyed the trip.
ChrisW_M, Jun 2026
The guide was wonderful, she gave us a lot of info about the town and the country. Highly recommend.
Todd_S, Jun 2026
Very well done tour - communication, pacing and guide. Highly recommend this shore excursion as an option to those available on the ship. Given our time in port, the day seemed rushed a bit, but that did not affect the tour overall - the guide and driver were excellent, sharing information and content to ensure we go the most out of th experience overall.
Mark_H, Jun 2026
It was a well organised trip , picked up directly off ship, exactly at 10.30.
Lilly our guide was experienced with a through knowledge of all things we ever wanted to know.
The Langfoss waterfall is definitely worth a visit with a few added stops on the way there and back.
Overall I thought this trip was excellent and definitely worth every penny
