We were picked up and rode out to the boat with a knowledgable Icelandic native. The boat was great and the captain friendly and knowledgable but let us fish independently. We caught 3 fish, 2 that we were able to keep and later eat. The fish soup was delicious and the day was fun from start to finish. A good day and a good value and the views from the water were spectacular and unique.

We had the greatest time and our guide Iris was so sweet and helpful!!! I had never fished before, my husband, sister and brother-in-law had. We got suited up, got out into the ocean, got a lesson on what to do, then we threw our lines into the water!! I caught 6 fish!!! The four of us caught 14 altogether!! Back at the fish house, we got to eat what we caught. It was a lot of fun!!! Thank you Iris, for a great adventure!!!

We had so much fun on our fishing excursion. It was a very rainy day, but they provided full rain gear. We caught a lot of fish which we then brought back to the camp and the Fraus cooked the fish for us along with waffles, it was so delicious! I have celiacs and they accommodated for me by making gluten-free waffles and fish. They are very kind people and made our experience so enjoyable. This was one of my favorite days on our trip to Norway.

Axel was fantastic on our fishing trip. He was on-time, easy to talk with, and very knowledgeable—not just about fishing, but also about Norway in general, sharing fun facts and highlights throughout the day.
He did a great job keeping everyone involved, and we each caught plenty of fish—mackerel, pollock, and cod among them—which, of course, made the day even better, and was quick to help with hooks, explain the different species, and walk beginners through the basics. The weather also cooperated, giving us a sunny afternoon on the water for about two hours. I would have happily stayed out longer, but it was still a wonderful experience regardless.
Lunch was definitely a highlight. There’s something special about cooking fish you caught just hours earlier—it was fresh and delicious. The team back at the dock also went out of their way to accommodate my wife, who has celiac disease and a severe tree nut allergy. They prepared her fish separately without flour, kept ingredients and utensils isolated to avoid cross-contact, and even made her a gluten-free pancake instead of the usual waffle. She couldn’t have the fish soup that day, but they mentioned they’ll be more proactive about offering gluten-free options in the future, which we really appreciated.
Overall, Axel’s company and attention made the experience outstanding. I’d absolutely recommend this activity to anyone visiting Bergen—whether you’re experienced in fishing or it’s your first time.

Great day fishing near Bergen. Our guide was helpful. We caught mackerel and Pollock and there were 20 crabs in the crab cage. We enjoyed having the fish cleaned. Our chef fried up the fish and served it with potatoes and pickled cucumbers. We also enjoyed the boiled crabs.
They have all of the gear you need so don’t worry about the weather. Overall, a great experience. The pick up and drop off was easy. A fun morning fishing in Bergen.

Had a lovely time in this trip. Although none of our group caught a fish, the operator was ready and we went to see if any crabs were caught in their traps. We had a haul of 7 crabs, so we had a crab each for our group of 6 pax. Since we did not catch any fish, the operator had backup plan and made fish soup with some frozen cod fish pieces. Result- a wonderful lunch of fish soup and freshly boiled crabs

Johanas was a great guide! Knew where to take us, explained everything very well and understood the levels of those in the boat. He helped those with little fishing experience and allowed veterans to have at it.
The meal prepared upon return was excellent and a showcase of the fish we caught. A core memory for sure.

Our guide Johan was fantastic, and our experience was as well. Beautiful scenery and we caught cod and brown crabs, which they later cooked and served for us. Absolutely would recommend.

Amazing experience! Don’t miss! The pickup and drop off were convenient, the drive to the fishing spot was beautiful, our guide was fun to be with and informative, the boat trip was perfect, and the food afterwards was delicious and plentiful! We only caught a couple fish but it didn’t matter because the time on the water was so nice. The staff were fantastic the entire day and always made sure we were enjoying ourselves. It was also nice that we had good weather. Thank you for a fun adventure!

We unfortunately did not get to go on this trip due to our cruise ship being held over in Amsterdam. However, this group was so gracious and understanding of our predicament, that even though we were only able to give them less than 24 hrs notice, they were still willing to give us a full refund! They were even willing to extend our meet up time to later in the day if we had been able to make it to the port. I am very sad that we didn’t get a chance to join this family for what I am sure would have been a great day out in Bergen. Hopefully we will get a chance to come back. Thank you to Viator for their assistance with this trip as well. Great customer service all around!

Staff were excellent, educated, informative, passionate, & provided great guidance & history of the area. I felt safe.
The lunch was very tasty.
Areas to consider for improvement: use any of the crabs in the trap we pull up for lunch & ask who in the group wants to stay present for filleting & who wants to go help cook & let customers help with cooking. I expected to help cook per the advertisement & was expectant as I take cooking classes in the various countries I travel. Allow cooking together or change the advertisement. Thank you for considering. I wish the team the best!

Very well organised small group fishing tour. We were provided with all the gear from rain coats to hats and gloves. The mini bus transfer from the center of Bergen to final destination was punctual and smooth. I've never done sea fishing before, but our tour instructor was really good explaining the technique and I manage to catch quite a few fishes. We also checked crab traps, where we found a good amount of crabs. All of the catch was freshly cooked for us at the end of the tour with delicious waffles on the top of it. The food was delicious. It was a greta experience, highly recommend 👍

Our fishing guide Casper was fantastic. He took us to all of the good fishing spots and gave information about the area as we rode around. It was so exciting to catch many fish and check the crab pots. After fishing the chef did an amazing job cooking our catch. We had a great lunch including local fare. Highly recommend.

Great day. Our guide was a true expert on the area and fishing. Out boat caught a bunch of mackerel and a really big cod (that got away at the last minute). The meal prepared for us after with the fresh fish was the best meal we had in Norway! Even with the rain, they gave us the right gear to keep us warm and the weather didn’t bother us at all.

Nice drive to an island called Syltøy. Hosts were very accommodating to make sure all guests were having a good time despite the rainy and cold weather. Food afterwards was excellent fish stew, mackerel that was caught on the trip and Norwegian waffles for desert.

What a Day! We were picked up promptly and taken to another harbour from Bergen city centre. It was so nice to see the scenery on the way and learn lots from our driver who was super friendly. This is a Family run business which makes it very special. On this occasion we met the whole family that couldn't do enough for us. Very personal experience and wonderful people. We were shown how to prepare our catch and it was great to eat it so fresh after the catch. What was prepared was so tasty, they even had homemade elderflower lemonade and their own apple juice that they make. Just wonderful. Can't recommend this trip enough.
