My husband and I visited St Martin for one week and did this activity in our last day, hours before our return flight. It was hands down the best thing we did on our trip. Our guide Nascha has lived in the island for many years and knows as much as the native birds and natural habitat, as she does about the island history and culture. It was a relief to be able to escape the tourist hubs and learn from someone who truly cares for the island, its wildlife, people and the local communities. We visited multiple sites across varying elevations, reveled in some of the most beautiful views on the island, and identified a wide variety of birds. What memorable and joyful experience, we are so grateful and happy to have found this opportunity!

Excellent day observing birds

Wow! The guide was so informative. Spoke of habitats, bird types and behaviors. Birds that coexist, others that don't. Migration paths, Caribbean islands are a critical stopping point on way to South America sometimes they stay here in St Martin. We visited 6 areas on the island, I think by the end of the tour we had observed ~30+ species of birds. Visited the only pelican nesting area on the island and had a chance to observe the families in the nests, feeding chicks of various sizes. It was s very interesting tour. Amazing how much bird life happens right around us and remains unseen.

Highly recommended!

Bindie is an excellent guide for birds and fauna. He knows his birds and where to find them. He helped me find 5 lifers. Highly recommend him. And his is FUN!

Binkie was a superb bird guide and a kindred spirit as a human being! We enjoyed visiting his home and bird feeder array!

Great guide

The guide is a very nice man with a lot of knowledge about birds. What I found most remarkable were the pelicans, but the small birds were also very beautiful.

Wonderful day on the island

Wonderful experience with Binky! The best bird photos are on my husband’s big camera, but these iPhone photos do show some of the natural beauty of the island that we experienced. Binky is very knowledgeable about the history of the island, the nature of the island, as well as where to find the birds! Great day!

Great tour guide, very knowledgeable!

Binkie is the only birder on the island. He is the local ebird reviewer and really knows a lot about where to find the birds you want to see. I had a one on one tour with him and we chatted and birded for around 5 hours, driving all over the island. I got four lifers, Lesser Antillean Bullfinch, Pearly-Eyed Thrasher, Green-throated Carib, and White-cheeked Pintail. Great experience, would highly recommend.

Getting to bird on this island was the best experience. This was our first birding tour on a Carribean island. Our guide knew her island very well and showed us many areas. The time allotted was just right for us. Seeing birds that are common to South Texas on this island reinforces the fact that birds know no boundaries. Great day! B. Whelton
