Do NOT do if you are coming in from a cruise

My husband and I were very excited for this hike. We love a good hike! The reviews were all good for this hike. We came in through the cruise port. We headed to the area where the taxis were and we approached 3 different taxi drivers and we were told the same thing by all 3 drivers. We were told that it was too dangerous to go to the drop off location. I asked what they meant by too dangerous and they told me that it was a cliff and it was too dangerous for us to be there in such a remote area. We told them that we had paid for a tour and we are meeting somebody there but the taxi drivers would still not take us to that location. We did not have an international calling plan and we could not communicate with the tour guide that we could not make it to that location. So unfortunately all we did was walk around the small area near the ports. It was very disappointing. And now I am out $80.

Hi, we very much appreciate any review that can better inform those looking to do a tour with us. We have never experienced taxi drivers refusing to go to the hike area in over a decade of business, and it could have been that the taxi drivers prefered a longer trip instead and therefore did not want to accept a ride so close by. I assure you the area is not dangerous. We did issue with a partial refund depsite the fact that it was out of our hands, as we understand it was also out of your hands

Ashley and Jack were excellent guides. The 11:30 hike is hot so bring hat, sun lotion etc. Outstanding views.

This was fun and informative. A great way to see part of the island that most tourists don’t go to. Our guide Alexandra had a lot of interesting things to teach us about SXM. Unfortunately, there were a lot of wasps along the trail that day because the wind wasn’t blowing much.

Our guide was wonderful. The hike gives you a different look at the island that you might not see otherwise. My 11 and 13 year old had no issues with the terrain.

Needs to include a driver

Unfortunately we did not meet our guide and didn't feel comfortable having the taxi driver just leave us there so we don't know if he/she turned up or not. Sadly no tour for us. This tour would probably be better if there was a pick up from the cruise port.

Dear Leona, sorry to hear that you did not feel comfortable to take a taxi to the meeting spot. We also did not hear from you and the guide waited 45 minutes at the meeting spot. Due to this wait, the guide had to be paid for her tour regardless and that is why we could not refund you the full amount. Tri sport, a very reputable company have always had fun tours and good reviews. It is something totally out of our control as when you buy the tour you are accepting that the transfer is not included. Could you please consider removing the review? As a gesture, we can offer you a one person hike for free when you return to sxm. Hope you accept and wish you a nice rest of your holidays. Juan Pablo
