This was one of the best tours of our holiday. We were picked up promptly by tour guides Ravi Joey and SamBuc(driver, apology for spelling!) We visited 3 local eateries which were all delicious. We also went to a local craft market where we purchased some fabulous art and also visited a local Cambodian night market. We ended the tour enjoying a beer with our guides and discussing very interesting topics. We loved everything about this evening made very special by our 2 guides Thank you both

Nice Intro to Cambodian/Siem Reap Food

cbff6wvmsn, Feb 2026
Fun tuk tuk food tour! Sounded like others cancelled their reservations day before, so I was the only one on tour. Bopha is a passionate foodie and very cheery. It was cool to see her interacting with a multitude of people we encountered on our route. Whether friends, restaurant staff, or other tour guides, everyone seemed to hold her in high regard. Crickets and Grasshoppers were actually pretty good to eat. Thankful to Bopha for encouraging me to try and eating them with me.

Thank you so much for your lovely review! We’re thrilled to hear you had a fun and memorable tuk tuk food tour, even as a solo guest — sometimes that makes the experience even more special and personal. Bopha will be very happy to know you appreciated her passion for food, cheerful personality, and the way she connected with people along the route. That’s exactly the kind of authentic local experience we love to share. We’re also glad you were adventurous enough to try the crickets and grasshoppers — that’s definitely a unique Cambodian experience! Thank you for trusting Bopha to encourage you to try something new with her. We truly appreciate your kind words and hope to welcome you back for another delicious adventure in Cambodia!

Amazing Evening!

Fantastic Vespa Food Tour

Kristy_K, Sep 2025
Very fun tour on the back of Vespa scooters! Very polite, responsible and safe drivers. Excellent Khmer cuisine and loved the stop at the Made in Cambodia Market. Bopha was such a great tour guide! She was so fun and knowledgeable about all the foods and explained how everything was made. Even shared some recipes. We learned a lot from her. And the deep fried bugs were way better than expected! Highly recommend this tour with Bopha as your guide!

Such a fun tour. I would highly recommend. You get to see parts of Siem Reap that you might not otherwise get to and the food is varied and tasty. Great tour guide.

Great Vespa Foodie Tour

Great Vespa Foodie Tour. We went all over town and ate interesting food that we would never eat. Our drivers were really safety conscious. When we stopped at street market they even helped us with our purchases.

Rum was a fantastic tour guide. Food was amazing and very filling. Definitely need to do this in an empty stomach because there’s a lot of food to eat. You will not be hungry after this your is over. Highly recommend if you’re interested in Khmer cuisine

Not worth it

Poppy_G, Oct 2023
This is terrible value for money. I have no idea where the money goes. It is marketed as a food tour but it is a city tour with some food stops. Having spent a week in Siem reap I signed up for this tour because I was interested in learning about street food. I had heard Khmer cuisine is the best food in south east Asia and after over one week in the country and a lot of Amok I felt like I still hadn’t really seen why it has this reputation compared with Vietnam, Thailand or Laos - especially following this tour. The guide was good so I’m sure the company’s main tours of bicycle tours around Angkor wat are good. But this tour is very expensive and not good value for money at all. It included trying 5 things including 2 noodle dishes all dishes were shared with the guide. Most of the food is quite bland - although the insects were well seasoned - but with the other food the noodle street food next to my hotel was considerably more flavourful! Being on the vespa didn’t add anything compared with the Tuktuk tour that follows the exact same route so we saw the Tuktuk tour at every stop and that tour is considerably cheaper and probably safer too, You have to sign a waiver and give next of kin details to do the tour (never done this for a food tour before?). It is good that the tour gets outside of the centre of Siem Reap. The tourist market and bar were fine but not why I signed up to the tour and not sure why they are on the route of a food tour? The market does not sell food. Also I felt uncomfortable going to the touristy bar on pub street with the guide who then drove me home on the Vespa after they had their beer. The guide was nice - without Tinan this would be a lower star rating - he shared lots of information about Khmer traditions and culture which was very interesting and the best part of the tour. He was limited by the set route and when I asked about other foods to try he said they were not available at the locations on the route. If I had paid $15-20 I’d probably have been more happy as this is how much other food tours are in Vietnam and Thailand but even then you try more than 5 dishes. At the price paid I couldn’t recommend. The guide talks you through each dish but you can usually get this information from just asking at the restaurant or stall - even in the less touristy areas in Siem reap you can get by on google translate or finding someone who speaks enough English to get info on what the herbs are or the basic ingredients of the food - on the street food stalls you can usually see your food being made to order - so the tour adds no value especially for the price paid. I had much better food when I asked my Tuktuk driver to stop at a street food stall during one of my temple tours. The street food in the Angkor area was great - especially on the way to bantreay srei where you pass through local towns and lots of fresh street food with very good flavours! Some of the best chicken I have ever had - so if you’re interested in the food in Cambodia maybe save yourself the money from this tour and just ask your hotel and/or Tuktuk driver to recommend some places instead.

Dear Poppy, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on our food tour in Siem Reap. We appreciate your honest review, and we apologize for any disappointment you experienced during the tour. Your insights are valuable to us as we continuously strive to improve our services. We're pleased to hear that you found our guide, Tinan, to be knowledgeable and that you enjoyed the information about Khmer traditions and culture. We understand your concerns about the value for money and the overall experience of the tour, and we would like to address some of the specific points you raised. We regret that the tour did not meet your expectations regarding the focus on street food. We acknowledge your feedback about the limited variety of dishes and the blandness of some of the food. Our aim is to provide a diverse and flavorful experience, and we will review the food selections to ensure they align better with the expectations of our guests. Regarding the route overlap with our Tuktuk tour, we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. We understand that the Vespa tour should offer a unique experience, and we will evaluate the routes to ensure that each mode of transportation provides distinct advantages. Your observation about the waiver requirement is duly noted. We take safety seriously, but we will review the necessity of such procedures for a food-focused tour and explore ways to streamline the process without compromising safety. We appreciate your feedback on the inclusion of the tourist market and bar in the tour. Your comments have sparked internal discussions on refining the itinerary to better align with the culinary focus of the experience. Lastly, we appreciate your suggestion to inquire about local recommendations from Tuktuk drivers and hotels. We understand the importance of authenticity in culinary exploration and will consider ways to enhance our tours to provide a more immersive and value-driven experience. Once again, thank you for sharing your thoughts. We value your input and will use it to make meaningful improvements to our Siem Reap food tour. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future and provide an experience that exceeds your expectations. Warm regards, Vespa Backstreet’ Team

The most fun you can have on two wheels in Siem Reap

Andrew_A, Dec 2022
Thanut and his friends were reliable drivers, knowledgeable guides - even on non-digestible items - and great fun to be around. This is not a cheap tour but for a street-level view with a bit of wind-in-the-hair fun, it just might be worth it. Recommended. Like most (all?) natives of Siem Reap, Thanut and friends were very friendly, polit and accomodating. Do engage him on local lifestyles and how the average Cambodian has lived and suffered through the COVID pandemic.

Great food exploration experience

AnkanaChakraborty, Apr 2022
Good starting point to get introduced to local cuisine. I was the only one getting the tour as there were no other bookings. My guide knew good and clear English and she drove me around allowing me to sample various food. We started at 4.45 and finished at 8.30 dropped back to hotel. You get to sample restaurant food and street food. I tried some exotic insects and beelrs, frogs all fried and I was fine the next day, they are quite safe to eat. Definitely a very unique experience, would recommend for solo travellers.
