If you have the chance, book this tour! We had a lovely half day today with Shin in a comfortable van with a small group. Suwon Hwaseon fortress is often overlooked by the big crowds, so it was a very relaxed experience. We walked part of the city walls (which are magnificent and super impressive), came by a beautiful park, and visited the temporary palace, and the martial arts performance by the guards which was MUCH MUCH better than the changing of the guard ceremony at Gyeongbokgung palace. Shin gave us a lot of information and was very kind and attentive. We even received a traditional Joseon era cookie on the way back. So happy we did this.

We had a lovely morning out at the fortress and palace. Our guide Henry was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. There is a lot of stairs and some are quite steep but Henry advised if it was to much we could use the bus as I was traveling with my mother. We would recommend this tour. We had a guided tour of the fort and traditional village. Dragon was very informative and answered any questions we had. The transport was really comfortable.

Our tour guide, Leo, was very knowledgeable and gave us lots of insight into the history of the fortress. The archery option was fun and the martial arts demonstration was very good.
I also liked that it was just a half day so it left time for other activities in the afternoon.

It was a small group making us feel like we were on a private tour. Our guide JL was knowledgeable and very friendly and approachable. He imparted a lot of historical information on us. Everything was on schedule and the duration of half a day is ideal as we had the afternoon to do continue our own shopping and sightseeing.

Great tour of historic places. Stella was a fantastic guide. She catered the tour to what the group would like to do and see. No rushing around. It was amazing to see the fort up close and walk around the area. Temporary Palace had a martial art show that was good. We did the combo tour with the Folk Village which was nice to see the different types of housing and culture in ancient times. Stella was an amazing guide and made the day go by quickly. She had lots of knowledge having been raised in the area.

Our guide Park was charming and extremely knowledgeable about the history of the Fortress and Folk Village. Park kept us entertained the whole time as she was delightful and funny pointing out where my favourite Kdramas were filmed.
Would I do it again? Absolutely as it has been a highlight of our visit. Please ask for Park if your a Kdrama or Kpop tragic like me.

If you have a list of places to go in Korea, Suwon can be at the back of your list. I don't think it is a must go place.

The guide was very nice, very helpful and very quick to share knowledge, take photos etc. Unfortunately the weather was against us on the day which meant we could not do a lot of the planned tour and significantly impacted expectations. While I certainly appreciate the efforts that were made and the guide was very nice, it is an expensive tour that should have just been cancelled and refunded by the tour operator if weather conditions were going to be that much an impact. Tourists would not be aware the level of such impact and would be reliant on the operator to make the correct decision or at least offer a discount if major parts are missed.

Starting from the pickup point, Mr Leo was sending messages to help us get to the meeting point without hassle.
Mr Leo and the van driver were very professional and thought us all the history behind the fortress construction and the emperor who built it (Now an UNESCO heritage site).
After 40+ minutes drive we arrived to the location, and I’ll need to add that Mr Leo knew all the best spots to take great pictures and would always offer to take ours.
Overall very helpful, thoughtful and flexible. Would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Seoul.

We were met on time and headed out to the fortress, Geanie was a very informative guide, explaining all about the kings and realms of the era. The fortress was huge and quite beautiful, a half day was just the right amount time to explore it. On a Monday there is no performances, however it was still a nice morning. Liz

Some potential in this tour was lost. On arrival, it seemed time was frittered away, waiting for the trolley ride. Leaving aside it was a bit gimmicky, it pointed out and then continued past, without stopping, the most photographic parts of the fortress. That made little sense. The time at the palace for the king's mother was good. The military display at the end was very good but again photographic chances were limited as the guide did not suggest maybe arriving a bit early for more of a front row seat. In the small museum before the palace, we were rushed through to a fine little film. The pace of the tour was wrong. As we had come from Seoul, we had transportation. It could have been incorporated into a better visit to the fortress, certainly earning at minimum another star.
