Don’t waste your time and money

We had to set off for this trip at 3pm it was about an hour drive to get there. We walked around the temple ( which resembles nothing like we were expecting) no statues or anything really? Walked across the front through really naughty monkeys 😂 our guide did not provide any information about the site other than scaring us to death about the monkeys and continuously telling us not to get our phones out because they would take them.. the walk round was not enjoyable and lasted about half hour. We then were sat about waiting for 2 1/2 hours for the show, which was good to see but the whole trip did not warrant 6 1/2 hours of our time for 1 hour. The cost of what we paid was really not worth it! Really disappointed ☹️

Sorry to hear you didn't have the experience you were hoping for. We understand the temple's appearance wasn't what you expected because temple in Bali is different then temple in other country, and we do investigated that our guide could have provided more insightful information because he fell something not comfortable after some conversation you pointed, our advice is better to response a conversation with respect word to ensure everyone fell in comfort. We're also sorry about the long wait and any distress caused by the monkeys, we have advice you to change the start time to 16.00 Pm but the day was weekend and traffic to the temple was really out of our control that take you 60 minutes from the hotel where you are in nusa dua. Also regarding your info with monkey, there is tropical monkey, where very quick some time taking phone or Hat or sun glasses, since the your travel time where the time monkey looking for their food and our guide maximize to protect your belonging due there is no insurance if monkey took your phone or other belonging. The temple and Kecak dance are both interesting, but the 1 1/2 hr drive each way, along with 1400 people (some groups pushing and shoving to try to cut the line, and then bring 10 family members along with!) made it worth avoiding for me. I personally thought the Ubud Kecak Dance was better. The monkeys were entertaining!

And here we would like to verify again that we have fully honored the order that following your tour voucher. First, regarding the driving distance. We have checked your hotel was located in Denpasar town, if we looking at the map that is showed about 65 minutes from the hotel to Uluwatu temple. Following the traffic condition on your travel time which is June as the high season and also school holiday, the traffic condition on main road to Uluwatu it is incrased . 30 minutes longer then Estimate travel time with driving is seem still logic since the hotel location is not that close to the temple of Uluwatu, " we unable to take any alternative road on your travel date, due all alternative road was fully of traffic as well" And if you compare to Ubud Kecak dance, following the performance and the point of view which is stated on your comment, it is true the dance in Uluwatu is more interesting to see because the performnce in Uluwatu temple is narsted with clear history of the Ramayana. And that is the reason why traveler choose to see the dance in Uluwatu " as you mentioned about the monkey is intertainng as involved on the show of Kecak dance in Uluwatu temple, may other place performance not have the fire show as what Hanoman white monkey do at Kecak Fire dance Uluwatu and that caused when the holiday season, the visitor in Uluwatu temple and Kecak dance is incrased then regular peak season. If you are happy with less crowded places, we can recommend you to visit nice retreat in Bali which is present more quite and less crowded surely. The experience was nice. Do not take your sunglasses, hats when at the temple cuz of the aggressive monkeys! Watch your purses too - make sure you put the purse across the body! And put your phones in your purses immediately after taking pictures otherwise you are at risk for the monkeys grabbing your phones from your hands!!!!!

Not waht pushed in the pixtures

Pushed as a fire dance. After 35 minutes of cultural noise, the fire dancing was lighting and kicking bunches of hay. The plus was our driver and guide. He deserves a 6 out of 5 rating.

After we have seriously deep investigation, we presented a big appreciation for your detail reviewing the performance Balinese Kecak Dance, and for the dance kecak is a clasic balinese performance dance that not using Gamelan or Balinese music instrument, but it using live sound from the dancer that following the scenario of the dance as well known story of Ramaya. You have stated about the fire, which is involved on the dance performance on kecak dance, followed one of the dancer character of white Monkey called Hanoman on the story try to help Rama to g QQet back his wife Dewi Sita by ransacked the palace of the King of Alengka who kidnapped Dewi Sita in the story. Hanoman the White Monkey promised Rama to bring Goddess Sita back to Rama, Hanoman angrily burned the palace of King Alengkan who was hiding Dewi Sita, without mercy. This action is when Hanoman burns down Ravana's palace, and in the Kecak fire dance performance using fire, it is a picture of when Hanoman the white monkey destroys the Alengka of King Rahawana's palace. And checking to our team guide driver, you have complete the time visit to uluwatu temple as well. What an amazing experience! Andy showed up right on time, In a clean air conditioned car, he was extremely helpful in warning against the monkeys at the temple, which can be very aggressive and was there to pick me out of the crowd when the chaos after the show let out. Could not recommend this tour more for a solo traveler who wants to relax and have everything taken care of.

Great experience

It was a great experience overall. We got picked up from our hotel in Kuta, takes about 2 hours to get to the temple because of traffic. Our driver Bagus is very friendly and helpful. The show start at 7 and the amphitheater is completely packed but it was expected. The show was great and my whole family truly enjoyed it.

Spectacular sunset show

The Kecak dance is an incredible experience and definitely worth visiting. Especially the 6pm show. Although you can purchase a ticket yourself for cheaper, we were thankful to have Bagus as our guide, he kept us clear of any thieving monkeys, retrieved our show tickets faster than we could have, and took lovely photos of us in the temple. He was very informative and friendly. And we now have a driver to our next destination. Thank you Bagus.

Just back from a memorable stay in Bali. Our last experience was attending the Kecak fire dance at Uluwatu temple, southern tip of Bali. Kadek , our local guide duly picked us up at our hotel, answered any questions we had, showed us around the area and provided tickets for the 6pm show - advising us re the better positioning in the amphitheatre to see the show and sunset. The dance/chanting and characters were unique - never seen anything like this; going through the story of the Prince, Princess.White monkey etc, even managing some humor and audience participation- truly memorable and not to be missed. A word of warning- it was hot and sun baked whilst waiting on the hard steps in the theatre - take a hat/sunshade/ cushion/ water. Will make the experience more enjoyable.

Unsafe Nightmare!

We had booked the later show so that we can tour the Uluwatu temple. Our driver Nyoman rushed us through the temple as we arrived 5:35 and insisted we go to the 6:00pm show. We told him and showed him the clearly advertised 7:00pm show. He lied to us and told us there is NO 7:00pm show. We ended up sitting up at the top and were cramped like sardines. If that wasn’t enough, on our way back he got off the main road and went into inside road with no lights and single road and also ran over a dog. He got lost several times in multiple dead ends and he had no idea where he was going, we needed to using our gps to navigate him out. He would tell not to worry to shut us up. I asked him several times why is trailed off the main road, it was unsafe with no answer. This was very scary experience for us and did not expect this for sure. Overall extremely unprofessional and unsafe

We have investigated that following the tour that you have, we have booked the first show which is available at 6.00 Pm to 07.00 Pm and that will be not possible to change the ticket with last minutes. The driver nyoman has explain you and guided you to the temple and tell you more about the show and the dark road to Nusa dua from Uluwatu was proved the alternative road to get avoid the traffic. Because you have given restirction time to the driver, that you have to be there at the spa or bali collection mall at 8.00pm and that is why Mr. Nyoman keep the time for the show start at 6pm to 7pm and to ensure you have ontime to be there at the shopping mall. And it ends to Bali Collection Mall shopping .We wish you not giving the restriction time to the driver and he can avoid the the rush time. To be honest, is not that good to drive fast on your request at the night with small narrow road ! We believe Nyoman our guide did his best, and about GPS work, we think Nyoman our driver knows where he have to go and with less talk to answer your question, Because you ask something that really not respectfull and make our driver feel not very very not comfortable and he decided to make quite and not to answer. Over all both side, you and nyoman the driver is feel not comfortable in the ends. As the operator We have fell excatly as what you write in the review title of " Night Mare in the afternoon " we have prepared everything well, and everything in rush is begin because you are late. Its better to put back your tradition back home regarding late to start time with 30 minutes delay instead of on time with starting time. 30 minutes late with lot of traffic, that can be giving high pressure to our driver with high restriction time to be there at 6.00 pm in the spot of Uluwatu temple stage from Seminyak as start point you have ! A Vibrant Balinese experience not to be missed

Our guide Jana picked us up promptly and with our driver was able to offer us a coffee/tea tasting which we enjoyed enroute to the Temple. We arrived in ample time to learn about the history of the temple and area and see it thoroughly. Jana was very knowledgeable, respectful and readily shared information. He forewarned us about the monkeys which steal hats and glasses, waited with us after he obtained the tickets for the Kecak dance to make sure we were comfortable with the process of lining up and entry/exit and met us after the performance. He patiently answered our many questions and we felt we learned a great deal about Balinese life and culture. The Kecak Dance was a vibrant performance and gave us more sense of the history of Bali. Entry and exit went smoothly despite the crowds and long wait. An experience not to be missed!

This was an amazing expierience. Our driver/tour guide was amazing. Putra shower us around the temple and explained historical elements of bali and was happy to answer my questions. He took some amazing photos for us throughout the expierience. Provided us with water and got us great seats to watch the dance. Would highly recommend this expieieence as your guide sorts everything for you, you do mot have to wait in the huge lines to get your tickets.

Great show, not great audience

I really really enjoyed this experience. We had a great driver. My only issue isn’t with the experience, but the people who were there in the audience with us. Not only we’re there children who were shouting and crying while we’re all trying to enjoy a cultural experience but the groups of people around us were talking non stop, which really takes you out of it. The dancers and the show were phenomenal. The wait is sort of long and I would bring an umbrella or something for shade cover, as it’s very hot while sitting waiting for the show to start. And I would maybe reconsider bringing younger kids. Just my personal experience.

Thank you very much for the amazing review, yes it was corrext with the situation in Uluwatu at the moment is very busy and crowded, some time is very very difficult to find even kecak dance ticket if anyone just come and trying to get the ticket on the venue. But dont worry, with all inclsuibe ticket kecak and uluwatu we are providing all that tikcet needed and please apologize if there any inconvenience during the time we are in uluwatu. The sun is very hot at the stage, everyone trying to get the best seat which is not really work that way, its a big stage and from every side still can enjoy the performance. If we are having child passenger, we will book the priority space for the kids if possible, that will help the best and comfortable seat. Interesting dance., beautiful grounds with ocean cliff views. Driver (Dedik) was extremely helpful. After the show Dedik took us to a seaside restaurant. Hint: bring something for shade while waiting for show - Sun can make it hot but you want to be in a spot to view the sunset just before the show.

I was pleasantly surprised when Wayan my guide picked me up. He was prompt and very informed on what was going to occur during the tour. He also advised re the monkeys re NO loose items, and he was right as many people fell victims to the ‘cute’ monkeys at the temple!. He helped with Photos & was very informed re Hinduism. I had a great afternoon, evening thanks to Wayan and thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of the tour!
