Sapporo: A MUST do activity!

What a great experience. The views are fantastic and getting there is interesting: we’ll explain soon. It is different to the Sapporo TV Tower. Is it value for money: absolutely. Would we buy this experience via Viator again: No. You can buy this at the Ropeway pretty cheaply and if you are in our age group, over 65 you can try and get a Seniors ticket, substantially cheaper again. The ropeway is two experiences in one, as it is in two sections: two different carriages to get to the top. Shops, facilities, food & drink available. We went in the third week of October: take your winter clothes, as it gets cold up there. I missed my Beanie & gloves (in the draw at home). Superb from the top. Timings: only a few people at around 11.30am, no crowds/buses; very pleasant experience. Now back to getting there and returning to the city: we plan really well & luv researching stuff: we had an amazing experience today: got to Odori Train station, walked westward and joined the Streetcar at Stop 1: travelled anti-clockwise on it and got off at Stop 10 Ropeway (stops are explained on the streetcar in Japanese & English). We walked 600m up to the start point. Coming home we did the reverse and stopped at all 24 stops on our travels; great views of daily life away from the touristy areas. Normal travel time from Odori area to/from is about 20 minutes: unbelievable! Even got smiles from locals and children😀. Travel time to and from plus the Ropeway itself: allow around 2-3 hours. P.S: there is NO connecting free shuttle bus from the streetcar Ropeway area to the actual Ropeway during weekdays until >5pm & weekends. As seasoned, fit, over 65 married couple, we appreciate the value of these honest reviews. Another tip from Autumn in beautiful Sapporo: if you go to Odori area, indulge in outstanding freshly made bakery products at Donbury Bakery! Some of the best we have ever seen in our travels! We bought a bunch of excellent products for ‘dinner’ (with our own coffee in our hotel room). That’s it everyone: we know it is a long review but we thought we would share our magnificent experience/s with you. Thanks, ALGreynomads.

Great and easy experience . My only issue is it kept saying it was sold out and two of our party wanted to join but they didn't . When we got there, there was plenty of seats and they could have come .
