Guides were great. Gear was top-notch compared to other places we snorkeled with: modern snorkels, new condition, no jenky bite marks. Water was quite wavy so we paddled out and got a ride back which was really fun. Guide was really into showing us fish and other cool things which made the experience really fun. Highly recommend!

This review is only for people coming in on a cruise ship, which is what we did. I wouldn’t do again without a better plan for getting to and from the snorkeling location. It was, logistically speaking, a challenge. About the adventure: Nik and Marcos were great tour guides. The way it works is that you paddle out (with the wind) from a beachfront location to a cove where you snorkel (sorry, the fish are mostly gone but the water is beautiful and crystal clear). Then you get towed back to the beach so you don’t paddle into the wind. My complaint: the booking and the transfer were a hurdle. There is no time given when you book. A few days before, Nik texted to say that we would need to be at the site at 8am. The ship didn’t dock until 7:30 and we had to get a tender, then either get up through the cable car or walk up the 500-plus steps. When I asked about transport, the answer was basically “make your way there.” Well, there aren’t a ton of taxis at Fira/Santorini. Eventually the booking got moved to 10 to give us more time, which was great and very generous on behalf of the business. We got off the boat, got in queue for the cable car, made our way through the town and stumbled on the taxi stand on the village. After a 40 euro ride, we got there at 9:15. Yes, it cost us 80 Euro to get to and from the location. If you are staying on the island and have transportation, this is a fun little expedition and you should go. But if you’re on a cruise ship, make sure you have a solid plan for transport before booking and that you know what time the tour is.

My family and I enjoyed this very much! The instructor was so patient and willing to teach. We even snorkeled at the end. We did not have to worry about pictures because they capture the moments on their go-pro and send it to you in the end! The only down side is that I wish the excursion was longer.
