The tour was great, our tour guide was excellent! The bike route was easy with incredible views. You get to see a lot of the area and learn about the local culture. I would highly recommend it. We took our 8 yo daughter and she really enjoyed it.

We have done a few Viatour city trips and this is easily the worst. I’d go as far as to say don’t waste your money. A 2 1/2 hour bike tour with 4 stops in total . The guide was pleasant enough but her English was poor and very heavily accented which made the small amount of information she gave very difficult to understand. Sometimes she gave info while we were on bikes and the fellow cyclists took up a system of relating what she said along the way as we cycled. I know no more about this city than I could have looked up in Wikipedia . This tour gives Viatour a really bad name and you may want to reconsider using this company in future

Guide showed up late. Long walk to bike store where we were given a low quality bicycle, and the staff person didn’t even know how to set up for the right height (I had to adjust it myself later on as we were already moving). Julien was knowledgeable about the area history but at times it was frustrating because he would be giving tour information while we were moving or while others were away, so we couldn’t hear it. Overall, I felt like we basically rented a bike to take it to the end of Onderetta beach and got a few tidbits about Googleable San Sebastián history. He was nice, though and very friendly, it’s just that we’ve done bike tours in several places in Europe and this was by far the lowest quality bike tour. We couldn’t have gotten the same experience renting a bike from a local bike shop for $8 for 2 hours. Still I would cautiously recommend the expert only because we still believe in bike tours at the beginning of your stay in any European city, to get lay of the land, interesting spots to visit and inspiration to dive deeper into visited sites.

Fun tour and we covered a lot of the city. The guide was very knowledgable and told us a lot about the history of the city.
The only downside we were a big group and only one guide, it would have been really useful to have a second guide at the back as its hard to keep a big group together when crossing traffic lights etc.

My wife and I took this tour and were extremely disappointed. We’ve taken over 30 bike tours in various cities around the world and this may be the worst. It was pouring rain the morning of the tour and the company refused to give credit for another time or day-so overly rigid. That, in and of itself, felt like a liability. We were still interested in taking it so we bought some ponchos and soldiered on. We had trouble finding the guide since the meeting point was just a church and we weren’t sure where exactly. Usually there is someone with a bike or sign but not in this case, so we had to call (international charges aren’t cheap) and get the HQ to tell us where exactly to go and then ask groups of people if they were here for the hike tour. After meeting the guide and another family (who were lovely) we walked for about 5 minutes to the bike shop where we received our bikes. The guide never introduced herself, didn’t tell about what we’re gonna do, nothing about safety or staying in a line etc. We finally started the tour about 15 - 20 minutes past the hour. We biked for only about 2 hours and stopped 3 times, which if you have ever taken a bike tour, is far too few times. We wanted to know about the neighborhoods we were going through, some history, some things in residents knew about San Sebastián, etc. The guide had very little personality, although was nice, seemed like she just wanted us to follow her around biking. Again, we only stopped 3 times in two hours! Two stars are just because the scenery was beautiful (wish we could have known more about it…) and that we went through the longest bike tunnel in Europe, which was cool. We expected more and think this tour is 100% not worth your money. We will be seeking a refund.

and we learned and saw alot of the beautiful Basque Country. We did not do E bikes - fyi-but enjoyed the peddling! Highly recommend

Nice way to see the city and cover more ground than simply walking. Bikes are very basic but this tour is mostly flat. Our guide was kind and explained the basic sights to us.

Hearing about the Basque culture and intersections with French and Spanish was very interesting. I had hoped the guide would have provided more detail about the origins, culture and history of the area and some anecdotes.

Francisco was an excellent guide- pleasant, friendly and knowledgeable about the city and it’s history. You can’t go wrong with this tour, esp. if you get Francisco as your guide. The ride is generally flat and easy and he is very respectful of of safety and the people who live here. Highly recommend.

The city tour was a great way to get an overview of the city on our first day here. Lander was an excellent guide and made some good restaurant recommendations which was helpful. The meeting point was easy to find, they were very accommodating with some last minute changes for us and communicate with aviator and the local contact was very easy!

Emilee was a great tour guide and the company was very accommodating. My girlfriend was very ill with a fever the morning we were supposed to do the tour, and I called Donostyle tours and they were able to move my appointment to the following day. Emilee gave us many great recommendations of restaraunts and other things to do. The tour was fantastic and the bike ride was very easy, I honestly could have gone for more of a strenuous bike ride myself but I know the city is very flat and biking is much better, quicker, and easier than walking.

Great tour in a small town. In 2.30 hours your cover the whole city. Beer and Pinxta at the end is a treat.
Check your bike well before you start and learncheck shifting gears. You'll need it maybe once or twice but it helps.
