Exceptional experience

Irledia_M, Mar 2025
Our guide, Imanol, was outstanding: knowledgeable, personable, and passionate about the region. He not only led us through breathtaking trails but also enriched the experience with fascinating insights about the landscape, history, and local culture. His friendly, engaging nature made for effortless conversation, and he took the time to ensure we felt comfortable asking questions. It truly felt like hiking with a friend who happened to be an expert in everything around us.

Family Camino Day

Marylin_R, Jul 2024
Walking the Camino is an enriching experience any time and any place. This part of the Camino is filled with a silent beauty unlike other more populated stages. Our guide was very knowledgeable and encouraging on difficult terrain.

Hike of a lifetime, Beware.

CHEF, Jun 2024
This hike was very challenging. Parts were moderatly verticle, parts were potentially dangerous do not expect railings, parts of the hike were a sure drop. Yes you will climb a mountain. The views are spetacular,it will take the average of 4 hours! Add significate degree of difficulty if its raining.! Hiighly suggest good hike shoes and walking sticks not for the faint hearted Please take your time and enjoy the experience. We had a great guide who took great care and patience.

Challenging, Rewarding and Inspiring!

Michael_H, Jul 2023
My wife and I brought her 74 year old father on this hike. We were concerned about this as many of the reviews indicated that it could be strenuous (particularly the first hour or so of step climbing (my watch said we did 75 flights!). He found the hike to be challenging (as we all did) but also very rewarding. The guide (and other two guests) was very accommodating. She (Begonia) worked in many stops and took the opportunity to tell us about the details of the trail, pilgrims, local culture and history. The views were amazing! We highly recommend this tour and this guide!

Great hike, great guide

Begonia, our guide, was lovely in every way-patient, a problem solver, good conversationalist, knowledgeable, and had a life long true love of the area. We had a terrific time with her. It misted a bit and rained at the end and we still had a ball. I absolutely recommend this experience.

Great hike with amazing scenery and views.

Andrea_F, Jun 2023
This hike was awesome and Begonia was an amazing guide! It is an escape from the city into beautiful nature and the great town of San Pedro.

Usoa was very knowledgeable and accomodating. The start of the walk is the most challenging section but well worth the stairs. It was pleasant in the forest and an escape from the city.

I have always wanted to do a part of the camino de Santiago walk. And this is a moderately easy 3-4 hrs hike. Do apply sunscreen, bring hat and walking stick

Walking a piece of the Camino

metrolarry, May 2022
Great views from this 3 hr hike from San Sebastián to San Pedro. Mateo was an energetic and fun guide. It was a bit more uphill than advertised but it was a wonderful roughly 6 mile hike. Recommend wearing hiking boots rather than regular athletic shoes.

Response from Host, May 2022

Thank you very much for your comment! We will take your ideas into consideration for future clients willing to know the St. James' Way hike!

Nice Morning Hike

stephanie_l, Apr 2022
This was a nice hike from Gros. You can easily navigate the hike yourself but having a guide was helpful for getting back at the end. And, having a guide for us was most beneficial because it was raining non stop and a bit cool outside. If we did not have the tour it would have been easy to stay in bed! But, we had the tour- in the rain- and that actually made it more rememberable. The hike all in all is a non strenuous hike (a bit up hill at first but not crazy) then meanders through the woods with gorgeous water views.

Response from Host, Apr 2022

Dear Stephan, We are happy for your nice words. Hontestly the weather was not the best for such a hike (we usually cancel this tour when it is pouring rain like this) but given that you were willing to go ahead despite of the weather we had no reason to cancel. However, we have to admit that it is a surprise to see a 3/5 rating after reading your words, because we understand it does not match with your description and definitely believe that your experience with us had a higher value than that. We also hope that we have the chance to host you again in the future, with a better weather if we are a little lucky. all the best!

Must try in San Sebastian!

Sumana_A, Aug 2021
Our guide Begonia was excellent. The scenery was absolutely beautiful and so peaceful. We finished the hike in around 3 and a half hours. Totally worth it.

This was the highlight of our trip...

shona R, Jul 2018
This was the highlight of our trip. We had a lovely morning walking through the forest from San Sabastian and over to San Pedro, where we took a little boat across the Bay to see the old town. The start takes you up a series of steps but after that it is all beautiful walking in the forest. The views are amazing when you get to the coast. Our guide was brilliant, he had lots of local information - and he had perfect English. He looked after us really well. We considered trying to do this on our own, but having completed the walk, I recommend you take the guide and just enjoy the morning.

Response from Host, Oct 2020

Thank you very much for your time and comments Shona! We are very happy to see that you enjoyed your experience with us. See you soon!

The trail was great and we were...

Maya_T, Jun 2018
The trail was great and we were lucky with the weather, but all the rest was surprisingly bad. The guide was a nice young man, extremely not charismatic, without any guiding skills, not too inteligent and very boring. The tour was suppose to include some tapas tasting, it was non edible. Waste of money and disappointing.

Response from Host, Oct 2020

We modified a lot of aspects in our guide's skills after your comments. Thank you for your feedback and hopefully we will have the chance to change your impression in the future. Best regards!

To miss this would be a crime!!! We were a bit hesitant knowing that there was some level of difficulty. But our guide, a local young man, was patient, kind and extremely knowledgeable. Never once did we feel rushed! The scenery and sense of accomplishment going over the trail and entering into a beautiful little village was a feeling hard to describe. We were so glad that we made the effort to make this happen and would encourage young and old to consider this hike as long as you have proper clothing. Breathtaking and unforgettable!

Response from Host, Oct 2020

Thank you very much for your nice words! We are proud to read them. All the best!

A wonderful tour with a local guide...

ANTHONY L, Oct 2017
A wonderful tour with a local guide, a passionate young man who clearly loves nature and hiking. It was a challenging walk, so fitness and good shoes are a must. The tour notes it is good for families, however I think it may be a bit tough for younger children. There were just to the two of us and so we could go at our own pace. It was a misty day with some rain, and the path was pretty boggy in places, but we were rewarded for our efforts by some breath-taking vistas and fresh water from mountain springs. Perhaps the best reward was at the end of the hike, when we descended to the charming fishing village of St Pedro for a glass of wine and seafood tapas. Our guide then organised a lift back to San Sebastian.

Thank you very much for taknig your time to write such a wonderful comment!
