Derek was an excellent guide. It is obvious how much he loves Salamanca as he efficiently guided us to most of the ancient and more recently built structures. The pace was perfect and I would not have changed a thing about the tour. Derek also pointed us to a couple of his favorite restaurants. at our request, as we ended the tour.

We enjoyed ourselves listening to the history and stories about Salamanca. Deborah did a very nice job taking us around the city and sharing bits of info as we walked. She was very kind, patient and helpful.

It was more than just a sight seeing tour. Our guide Deborah was lovely and made our tour of Salamanca very special through her eyes as a student of the university. She took us to all corners of the old town of Salamanca and showed us the city through her eyes. We highly recommend this tour! We hope you get Deborah. She was absolutely delightful.

We really enjoyed our time with Brenda. She is very personable and we had lots to chat about as she is in education and I am a retired teacher. She is very knowledgeable about Salamanca - loved the indoor market and the library! Since she is from Peru, we could add info about that country also.

Our guide, Manuel, took us on a 3 hour tour of the historic centre of Salamance. He spoke excellent English and was able to provide plenty of interesting information and history about the monuments, buildings and sites that we visited. After the tour we were able to return to some of them to visit inside at our leisure (Old University building, Cathedral, Convento de San Esteban and Casa Lis). We can also thank him for recommending a small restaurant we visited after the tour (Don Quixote) - wonderful tapas.

Alberto was wonderful! He showed us places that only locals would know. He was well versed in history and was able to answer our political and social questions with ease. He knew we wanted to see the market and took us there to talk about the various dishes that are common to the region. This was money well spent!

IT. Di sicuro questo tipo di tour non vale la pena e nemmeno vale la pena pagare €94 per una visita “guidata” di 3 ore di questo stile. Praticamente funziona così: tu incontri una ragazza/ragazzo che semplicemente vive a Salamanca (spesso uno studente) che ti accompagna per le strade della città raccontandoti le cose abbastanza evidenti, anzi molto meno dettagliati di ciò che troveresti sui vari siti Internet “10 cose da fare a…” Letteralmente parlando questo tipo di servizio non è affatto un inganno, perché loro ti dicono apertamente che la tua guida ti mostrerà la città come un semplice cittadino che ci vive, ma dal punto di vista del povero turista questo tipo di visita (profumatamente pagata) sarebbe una delusione, piuttosto perché a Salamanca si può trovare le visite guidate di gruppo anche per €25 effettuate da una guida turistica professionale molto dettagliate e molto interessante. Infatti un giorno dopo ho dovuto acquistare una di queste visite per vedere nuovamente la città in modo adeguato.
EN. For sure this type of tour is not worth the money you pay for (€94 for a 3 hour "guided" tour of this style). Basically it works like this: you meet a student who simply lives in Salamanca who accompanies you through the streets of the city telling you the things that are quite obvious, indeed much less detailed than what you would find on the various Internet sites "10 things to do in..." Literally speaking this type of service is not a deception at all, because they tell you openly that your guide will show you the city as a simple citizen who lives there, but from the point of view of the poor tourist this type of visit (handsomely paid) would be a disappointment, rather because in Salamanca you can find guided tours even for €25 very detailed and very interesting carried out by a professional tour guide. In fact, next day I had to pay for one of these tours to see the city properly again.

Una maravillosa manera de conocer Salamanca. Cierto es que el domingo muchas Iglesias y monumentos estaban cerrados, pero aún así nos dio la oportunidad de conocer una ciudad fantástica y plagada de historia. La guía simpatiquísima y muy servicial.
