This experience was incredible for our whole family (2 adults and 2 kids). The kids were on the back of the snowmobile. They ended up picking us up early but it was a huge blessing in the end because it was very cold by home time. We were lucky enough to see some northern lights.

Staff was very friendly but this is one of the big companies who offer snowmobile hunt, everything is rush rush, try to find small companies who can offer you personal touch.

Pre cooked sausages for stop would have been easier than cooking them over the campfire and no toilet so be prepared!

The whole trip included a short ride with the bus to the snow mobile, a brief introduction of the vehicles, a roughly 30min snow mobile ride to a remote place where we had open fire and the ride back to the buses. The part where we got to drive the snow mobiles was unfortunately the only enjoyable experience of this trip because overall it was very poorly organized. When we got to the office of Nordic Unique Travels everything seemed very chaotic, the whole place was overly crammed with people yelling around and nobody knew what to do and when or where we would get picked up for the trip. With 30min (!) delay we got on the buses, some of them got filled to the brim with people and others only had 4 people in them, because the guides did not make similarly sized groups. During the snow mobile ride (2 people per snow mobile) the guide in the front was speeding so much that we had to stop multiple times, sometimes even 10min (!) because they lost people along the road and had ro go look for them. When we arrived at the remote camp fire place they again lost people and it took them about 20min to start with the camp fire while it was freezing cold at around -20 degrees. We had one 20cmx20cm fire for 30 people (!) so the fire could certainly not accommodate all of us. And after another half an hour of freezing they realized that it might be better to start another fire but still it was not enough for 30 people to warm up a bit. After spending around an hour at that place with no Aurora visible (and not even the moon so there was absolutely no chance of seeing anything and staying there even longer than half an hour seemed like a painful waste of time) anywhere the guides called it quits and took us back to the bus. Because it was so cloudy the guides made an effort to drive us with the bus further 10min outside of the city in the hopes of having some clearer sky but unfortunately it stayed cloudy. That's when we returned to the office. I want to positively highlight the efforts made by the staff to get us to another spot for potential northern lights but this company should really reconsider the group sizes and the overall organization of this activity. Therefore I would rather recommend taking any other company for such an activity.

OK. I had mixed feeling about leaving a review for this activity. First I want to say that the guys at the store location in Rovaniemi were great. The guides during our ride were excellent.They were very knowledgable of the equipment, including the cold weather gear, they took great care of the customers, the snowmobiles were in great shape and performed flawlessly, and also the guides were very knowledgable of the area we were snowmobiling in. Now comes the criticism; businesses need to be customer friendly. Sometimes customers make mistakes while purchasing the activities, but sometimes also the company websites are bad designed or improperly setup to handle customers requests appropriately. I think that is the case with this business and its relationship with Viator. We thought we purchased two separate solo rides, one for me and another one for my wife. In the end that was not possible, and to my satisfaction, appropriate options were not provided to try to please us after this misunderstanding. We were just given vague excuses as to why we could not have each our solo rides, instead of trying to solve the issue. That fact alone affected, but not ruined our trip which still was a great adventure for us. I think the store management could have done more to try to please us, especially when you have people traveling from distant places of the Globe to do this activity. We would like to return to Rovaniemi and do similar activities like this while there, but I'm not sure I will use this company for this service again, unless this is the only company available for that, which in the end could explain why customers are treated like that.

Très belle balade en moto neige, le guide était très sympa. La nuit s'est plutôt très bien. Nous n'avons pas vue les aurore boréales, le petit déjeuner autour d'un feu de bois avec les saussisses très agréables. A recommander.
