Ivan, our guide was very knowledgeable about the history behind the mosaics and the political and religious history of this era. It was a full afternoon. A lot of walking but he moved things along well and we learned a lot.

Our guide was very knowledgeable about the history Ravenna and the meaning of many aspects of the mosaics we saw. The only small suggestion would be to include one place in the trip to sight down and listen because three hours is a long time to stand. But lots of great information with a knowledge guide. Beautiful and inspiring mosaics.

Really outstanding tour of Ravenna and the Mosaics of early Christendom. We learned about the differences between early East and West Christianity, the key actors during those years as well as detailed explanations of the mosaics we viewed. Excellent tour!

Ivan was so passionate and knowledgeable about the mosaics and where they reside. The Historical and religious details he related made the tour come alive as much as possible. Be aware everyone is only allocated a certain amount of time in a couple of sites so take photos while your guide is speaking.

Traveled from Bologna to Ravenna for the day to see the mosaics. Our tour guide was very nice, but her voice was very difficult to hear, with and without the listening device. She focused heavily on the symbolism in the mosaics- which is important, I would have enjoyed also hearing more about the construction and architectural history. The tour was scheduled for 2.5-3 hours and continued into 4 hours. It was very cold this day and the extended time was challenging to stay focused. I left before the tour was over based on time and the cold temperature. This is absolutely a tour worth taking. I think the combination of our guide’s voice with the weather conditions made it challenging on this day.

We have never been to a more beautiful town than Ravenna, all the mosaic, from 1500 years ago to modern work from famous and local artist, all amazing. But without our guide Chiara, that would be all we take away from this town. With Chiara almost endless knowledge of the town, it's history, not just mosaic but history of different rulers and religion that made their impact on it's churches and art within it. Chiara detailed and sometime funny explanations made the 3 hours tour a breeze and it's a absolute must if you visit this amazing town.

Our tour included about 20-25 people, which proved to be a bit unwieldy for our time. With a group that size and the need to be quiet in churches, I felt that we missed some good content. But still, the tour stops by several truly beautiful churches that are wall to wall with mosaics, and some of the most beautiful churches and frescoes in Italy.

We thoroughly enjoyed our mosaic tour in Ravenna. Some truly wow moments. Chiara was an excellent tour guide - very knowledgeable and engaging. I had been slightly worried that the group might be quite large but the radio ear pieces made it easy to listen to Chiara and also meant we could wander further from the main group yet still hear her explanations. Group of about 20. Very friendly and knowledgeable guide. Howeber, his accent was so strong as to render him almost incomprehensible. Worse still, the electronic sound system was less than useless. So, we got very little information regarding the three churches, baptistry and mausoleum we visited. We also stood in several long lines. More positively, the guide's attempt to explain the spiritual (as opppsed to merely the architectural) context was much appreciated (when we could hear him).
