This is a really great introduction to Quito through exploring its food culture. Edwin does a lovely job of helping you to connect with the locals he knows and loves through their food. He took us to places we would never think of going to alone. We cannot recommend this tour highly enough. We’’d give this tour more than 5 stars if we could.

Our tour with Edwin was top-notch. He obviously cares deeply about his community and wants to share it with the world. We felt a little like VIPs as Edwin knows the business owners very well. The tour was an excellent mix of food, culture, and history. Edwin was great with her nine and 12-year-old kids Just a wonderful time.

This was a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. I am a big foodie and wanted to make sure I stumbled into some local favorites and this was the perfect way to do it. Edwin is personable and accommodating (and seems to know everyone). I can’t say enough good things about my experience- highly recommend for anyone wanting to try some off-the-beaten path places or who may feel intimidated trying to scope out the best huencas.

I highly recommend this tour as a fantastic opportunity to get to experience the history and traditions of Quito! The chance to meet the owners and sample the delicious offerings of the small shops and restaurants that have been serving locals in the historic district for decades was truly unique, and the warm welcome we received at each of the stops made the tour very special. The conversation and information Edwin provided throughout the tour about both the history of Quito and contemporary life there was also fascinating, and very helpful for a first time visitor. The final stop to share a drink with the coordinator of a small organization that provides free classes and activities for kids in the community was also great, and I appreciated the chance to pick up a few of the crafts the children had made as meaningful souvenirs of my visit. Definitely worth booking if you'd like to get off the tourist trail and really get to know the city!
