We felt she showed us cultural activities of the region. We enjoyed her friend that joined us and told about the indigenous dress and songs. Also the man who played musical instruments he carved. We had lunch at restaurant that served traditional Ecuadorian food. I would recommend this tour.

We went to the Cloud forest with our bilingual guide, Christian. His English is excellent and he taught us some Spanish on our two hour drive to the Mindo Cloud Forest. Once we arrived, we hiked down to a very nice waterfall. We did the easy one as we had three other cool things on our itinerary. Round trip hike was just under an hour with the decent (approx 300 m with good swithmchbacks), enjoying the waterfall for 15 minutes, and the return hike up. Excellent cardio on the way back up (I'm 60 and in ok shape, not great). Following a great hike, we went Mindo Zip-lining and did the 10 lines for $20 per person. An excellent price for ten outstanding and fast ziplines. The only bad part is that the person taking the money (cash only here) did not have change for $100 bill, so we had $65 in small bills (10s and 5s), that was meant for tipping, but had to use 60 to pay for the Zip-lining. Therefore, even though we wanted to tip our guides better, we were only able to give them a total of $5 and they definitely deserved $10 each, in my opinion. Bottom line: don't bring $100 or even $50 bills, bring 5s and 10s.
The next thing we did was go to Serenity restaurant in downtown Mindo. The host was amazing and the chef came out to greet us. Pricing was great and they take credit cards. I had a mixed Ceviche with shrimp, octopus, and two other fishes and it was plentiful and about 1/2 what you'd pay in the US for the same dish. We then went to the chocolate tour at QUINDES Chocolate and it was fabulous. It was about an hour and included a bilingual guide and we went thru the entire process from cutting open the cacao pod and getting the seeds to roasting them and finally the tasting. We also did a chocolate facial (no sugar added) and those were some fun photos! The last thing we did on our tour was the hummingbird sanctuary. Christian will take you to the best one. I cannot recommend this tour enough if you are coming to Quinton.

A trip to Mundo is a must and you will be so happy that you went with Christian!
He is fun and engaging, professional and so knowledgeable. It is clear that he loves what he does and he does it better than anyone. The ride was comfortable, the many landscapes we crossed were fascinating and Christian made the trip feel like time with a dear friend.
Mundo is a delightful town in the cloud forest. The hike, the lunch and the chocolate experience were all memorable, but the defining moment was saved for last.
Feeding hummingbirds from the palm of your hand is mind blowing! At one point, there were FIVE sitting in my wife's hand waiting their turn to drink out of the cap of nectar in her palm!
Do not pass up this amazing adventure!!

Wonderful experience and great trip! If you’re looking for a bird expert, ask for Christian! He knows his birds and really went out of his way to make our day a special one. He even shared the bird check list we created together.
We also enjoyed a nice time making and drinking our own coffee, along with a scrumptious lunch.
I highly recommend this trip if you’re looking to see a great number of hummingbirds and local birds in Mindo.
Christian is also an excellent driver that puts your safety first !

This was the perfect tour with a lot of choices for what you want to do. We did the hummingbird sanctuary in the morning which was so cool. The. Some of our group did zip lining while the other half did the waterfall hike. We then had a great lunch followed by the chocolate tour. The only thing is that I wish the chocolate tour had more regular chocolate with different cocoa levels instead of just flavored chocolate.
Daniel was a wonderful guide and Manuel was a great driver.
I would definitely recommend the tour to others. You could potentially spend the night in Mindo since there is so much to do in that area and it is 2 hours from Quito.

WOW! I've heard the Andes Hummingbirds, Birds, and Hummingbirds were amazing, but they are incredibly colorful and our guide was superb, knowledgeabel, kind, good driver, a master of the English language, what a fantastic day. I recommend this for anyone interested in this wildlife and especially those interested in photography. Even the drive up into the Andes was beautiful, terraced farms, lush plant growth, quaint villages, even a great lunch stop, and none of the extras were costly. We had a blast on the most beautiful zip-line we've been on with some really long zip-lines and even a 2nd parallel cable for safety. They traversed deep gorges over streams and the operators were very kind and knowledgeable themselves. I'd do this again in a minute.

Tour is expensive for what you receive. There is private transportation but it was not included in the cost. Drive from airport area to Mindo is 2 hours over twisty mountain roads. The best part of the experience was being with the tour guide/driver, Christian, who is a wealth of information and an excellent driver. He is a shining star for this company and has excellent English skills. We did enjoy the chocolate tour and hummingbird sanctuary (but these are additional costs).

In my beautifull country some roads are twysty and the way to the cloud forest has curves as we are in the Andes and it is not possible to have straight roads through the mountains, wich means the roads are full of scenic views of mountains and Forest.
We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the tour with the hummingbirds and chocolate. It is an excellent tour and our star guide Christian knows how to get the most out of it despite the distance or geography.
We are sorry we had to charge extra for the transfer from the airport, but it is quite far.

This was the perfect day trip from Quito. Our guide Christian was amazing!! He met us at the hotel and we started our day. It was almost a 2 hour drive to our first stop and Christian kept it interesting, pointing out scenery and giving us a lesson on all things Ecuador. At the first stop he gave us a couple options to choose and we picked an easy hike to a beautiful waterfall, all the way he taught us about the plant and animal life and we even spotted a few toucans in the trees. We next stopped in town for a chocolate making tour where we had the chance to roast our own chocolate beans and have some samples of what we made. After a nice lunch, we went to San Tadeo birding where we were able to see hundreds of hummingbirds, feeding some from our hands. Gorgeous scenery, and wildlife, and the best tour guide ever!

We took a day tour to experience the many things Mindo has to offer, and chose the waterfalls, hummingbirds and butterfly experience
Our guide Christian was incredible. He had an extensive knowledge of Quito, Ecuador, vegetation and birds and his English was excellent
He was very accommodating and allowed us to plan our itinerary
The walk to and from Nambillo waterfall was enjoyable and doable
We then went to see the butterflies where we learned many facts we’d previously not known and we even got to feed one !!
The highlight of our trip was the hummingbirds where again we were able to feed them. These tiny little birds actually landed on our hands, which was beyond amazing, and the speed of their wings felt like a fan !
The journey to and from Mindo was quite long, 2 plus hours but it was a great opportunity to see outside of Quito and Christian taught us so much along the way

One should consider there is a lot of driving - 2.5h one direction. Walk in cloud forest is very short, all entrance fees are additional, the bird watching facility for 5 $ is problematic considering animal wellfere as they are feeding the birds and changing their natural behaviour. Zip line was good. In general, our driver was nice, but wouldn't recommend this tour.

We were surprised to read that the hike was short as it normally takes 50 to 60 minutes in uphill and downhill terrain, which makes it a demanding hike.
It is true that entrance fees are not included, this is detailed in the tour information. We recommend you to read this before buying a tour next time.
In the hummingbird sanctuary we have a feeding activity that allows us to teach people about the importance of cloud forest conservation and allows us to preserve sensitive areas of forest that are threatened by deforestation. Your opinion is very valid and we respect it, however we invite you to understand that we do it for a good cause and we have biologists behind these practices, who validate and supervise what we do.
We are glad to know about the zip line was good and the driver too.

Christian is a great guide, I think he kept mentioning interesting things the whole drive back and forth to Mindo. Amazing knowledge about birds and plants. Whole trip was flexible and we got to make our own coffee and chocolate.
Bird sanctuary was very nice, got to see some Toucans (apparently rare sighting) and feed hummingbirds.

Superb exploration of birds and butterflies in Mindo provided by our excellent guide, Christian! We customized our tour to focus on Mindo’s unique flora and fauna —primarily birds and butterflies— so we spent more time in those areas, sacrificing the waterfall hike and chocolate factory visit. Hummingbirds were incredible and we spied over 40 species of birds in a period of several hours. Enjoyed a relaxing, economical lunch at Serenity restaurant. Christian was friendly and knowledgeable, and tracked our bird sightings on a checklist. Highly recommend a visit to this region and the tour with Christian!

This was our first time booking a tour like this, and we didn't quite know what to expect. And everything was amazing! A very special thank you goes to our guide Christian, the very best guide in Ecuador :) we immediately felt like we made a new friend. His knowledge of and the live for the country is admirable. We learned so much about nature, history, and everything else of this country.
The tour is customizable. You can skip things you don't care for. We did ziplines, coffee and chocolate tour, bird and hummingbird place (yes, they will land on your hand) and walked around the cute little town of Mindo.
It was 100% worth the price! A perfect day in beautiful Ecuador!

Guides were local which is important. English was good enough. Itinerary was flexible and we did most things we wanted for the time we had (really need 2-3 days. Did chocolate tour, waterfall hike, gondola, zip line, woukd skip butterfly garden, and dod bird sanctuary with fruit and hummingbird feeders. Hummingbirds were the highlight with about 20 species and some land on your finger!

We had a great time. Daniel was a great tour guide, he was very professional and knowledgeable. He helped my mom identify many species of birds. He arrived on time and went at our pace. He was very patient and took us to see some great things like the butterflies and hummingbirds. The coffee and chocolate tours were a lot of fun as well. I would definitely recommend this tour.

Our guide for the day was Christian. He was AWESOME! He provided us with so much information about their history, volcanoes, cultures, etc. The zip lining was way more than expected. There were 10 lines and they were so accommodating when I was slow climbing to the next one. The chocolate tour is a must as well. You get to experience so many things from preparing to tasting and even a chocolate mask! And of course the butterfly and hummingbird farms put such a smile on my face. Getting to have them land on you and see them up close was unbelievable. Everyone should try and do this tour and hope you get Christian as your guide!
