Fantastic day!

This was GREAT! The hummingbird place was amazing; so many species and so colorful. We got to have them eat out of our hand! The waterfall hike was beautiful but be aware that it is steep with lots of steps. The butterfly garden was also amazing. So many colorful butterflies everywhere! We ended with the chocolate tour, which was also excellent. Great day all around! Our guide David was very knowledgeable and gave us lots of information about Ecuador along the way. Highly recommend!

My husband and I went on this tour February 5, 2026. Josue was our guide and the driver was Javier. They were so fantastic, Josue spoke very good English and answered all our questions! We were picked up at our hotel and Josue stayed with us throughout the whole trip, which was 13 hours. Amazing adventure day. Juan is an excellent guide. Very knowledgeable and kind. We saw a waterfall and learned about the plants from an indigenous guide. We rode the cable car and had a delicious lunch. The chocolate tour was beautiful and tasty. I loved the butterflies and had the hummingbirds eating from my hand. Thank you Juan for a lovely day.

We had a private tour with David who told us a lot about Quito and Ecuador in general. We were picked up at our Airbnb near La Carolina in a comfortable car with big water bottles for the day. We were able to visit the Hummingbirds ($5), Waterfall hike with cable car ($5), Ziplining Canopy ($20), Lunch ($ on our own), Butterfly Garden ($8.50) and Chocolate Tour ($10). The tour does not include the entrance fees so I listed them as of Dec. 7, 2024. We were able to tailor the tour to the experiences we were interested in and enjoyed them all except we would skip the Butterfly Garden next time. It's a short stop 20 minutes and for what you pay and see we didn't really find it worth it. We felt we saw everything we wanted to see in 1 day in Mindo. Efficient use of our time and money. David was great to talk to and we learned a lot from each other.

Very nice guide. Flexible, friendly, spoke English well. We ended up doing quite some activities including waterfall tour, ziplining, tubing and the butterfly garden and he was happy to accommodate all. Also gave some interesting historical backgrounds on Ecuador on the way to Mindo and back.
