Fantastic Tour to Boutique Wineries

Emma was a fantastic guide, and her dog Bella was the perfect co-pilot! We visited boutique wineries that were unique spots when compared to other tours I’d looked at. As a result, we got to visit wonderful, quiet wineries with stunning views. Lunch was fantastic as well. Overall, we felt we got a comprehensive, highly interactive trip through some of New Zealand’s beautiful Pinot Noir region.

Phil was a great tour guide with lots of knowledge along with his sidekick, Seb who knew so much about wine, they were the perfect pairing. Honestly not one complaint, thank you for a great tour. Great day trip!

Our guide Shayan was friendly and so knowledgeable and made the trip so much fun! Great wineries and even on a cold and sometimes rainy day the scenery was beautiful. Finished at Ayrburn and stayed on for a great dinner there with some of the others from our tour. Very highly recommended!

Fantastic day!!

What a great day!! You have the choice of a regular bike or an e-bike. After the guide gives instructions and you’re comfortable, you’re on your way!! You can stop at as many or as few wineries as you choose. And the ride along the way is gorgeous!! We only stopped at the Gibbston Valley Winery and The Church Cellar Door winery, which was a great place to end. The views were spectacular, the music was great, and the atmosphere was lively. It was the perfect place to relax and enjoy!!

Absolutely loved it and would definitely come back a third time!!

This is the second time I have done a wine tour with Appellation Wine Tours, the last time being in 2022 and I had the best time on both occasions. Last time I was on my own and they ensured I was included and felt comfortable, and I enjoyed it so much I had to come again and bring my fiance this time. It’s great that they also mix up the wineries so I tried some different venues this time around. Couldn’t be happier with the value of the day & the terrific customer service overall. I bought a beanie a couple of days before & unfortunately dropped it after our lunch sitting - Martin not only called the venue to ask them to keep it safe for us, the drivers dropped it back to our hotel a day later. It’s this level of attention & care that ensures people will continue to enjoy your tours for a long time to come. Martin was a wonderful guide with a depth of a local knowledge which kept the whole group entertained & interested throughout the day. He’s a a credit to your organisation. Thanks again mate.

Beautiful chug down the lake capturing magical vista with the opportunity to view exceptional & historic engineering aboard the Earnslaw, still coal driven. When pulling into the wharf, the Staff at Peak Station were on the foreshore waving us in, just fantastic. The food is excellent. The selection of NZ meat, cheese & fish clearly showcased. It was the best buffet quality food I have ever experienced.

Awesome wine trail tour of three Queenstown well established wineries. We all had a really enjoyable day with our excellent tour host/driver who was very knowledgeable showing us the sites of the wider area having lived in the area for a number of years. Awesome Day Wine Tasting!

We had a wonderful day wine tasting! Fabian was a wonderful host and guide throughout the day. He is friendly, knowledgeable, and made our experience so fantastic! The best part of the experience was being able to choose where and when we wanted to taste. No set schedule. We had as much time as we wanted to taste, eat and/or explore. Truly a 5 star experience. Would book this experience again and recommend to others!

Highly recommend this!

I highly recommend this tour. I saw bungy jumping, a winery, Arrowtown, a world famous golf course, great views and more. After a few days of hiking, it was ice to sit and see the sights, with frequent stops to get out and explore. My tour guide, Paul, was extremely knowledgeable about the area. He was very pleasant and willing to answer any question. I learned so much. Don’t miss this one!

We did the half day tour...

We did the half day tour & would recommend! Loved: - Both drivers (Kerry & George) - Mt Rosa (1 - small great vibe), Nockies Palette (2 - beautiful views & scenery), the Winery in Arrowtown (3 - so fun to dispense the wine ourselves and I think a really fun way to start), Gibson Valley (4 - could take or leave but I think it’d be better if we did a formal tour with them) - we fit in 4 stops! Felt like we made good use of our time. Tour ended approx 5-5:15pm. - drivers offered to call and make bookings for tasting when we got on the bus - bus very comfy, not super windy or bumpy Of Note: - you get a timetable & map immediately upon getting on the bus. You need to be a bit flexible with the wineries you go to since you don’t have access to it beforehand. There must be some reason they don’t give it out but 🤷🏼‍♀️ - the stops are approximately 50mins so it’s fast!! You would definitely need to spend two spots for lunch in order to have enough time to get your food & eat it. Since we were the halfway, we ate beforehand and had plenty of time to get a cheeseboard, bread, fries, etc during one stop Overall really fun & would do again!
