Overview
Spend the morning horseback riding from Tarcoles with an English -speaking cowboy, and then boating through the river in search of crocodiles. When you arrive at one of the ports, you will be collected and driven about an hour to town, where you will be paired with your guide and horse. After 2 hours of riding, you will have a one hour boat ride on a river with one of the world’s largest crocodile populations.

The horses were tied to trees in the hot 33 degree heat with very empty water containers. They were not chosen according to rider experience as they were already saddled. These are definitely “follow the leader” horses, with only one pace: slowly walking. Mine had rope burns from various neck/mouth ropes (bridles, halters) on his neck.
The guide spoke NO English and didn’t understand a word. He offered no “guided tour”. He rode his horse 50 feet front, without a word.
The ride DID NOT go thru a rainforest. It went thru some trees, a cow pasture and the beach. We could hear the howler monkeys but he didn’t look in the trees for them, as they were no interest to HIM. The beach was beautiful…as the horses plodded thru the wet sand.
THERE WAS NO BOTTLED WATER!
THERE WAS NO LINCH!
THE HORSE BACK GUIDE SPOKE/UNDERSTOOD NO ENGLISH

Both the driver and our guide were knowledgeable and helpful. Riding on the beach was amazing. We saw some of the red macaw that live in the forest near the beach!
